I feel like punching a wall and crying. DH and I went to the apartment to move some stuff in and check everything out. Well, DH keeps finding things wrong. Apparently there's uneven floors in the kids room. A lot of our outlets need to be changed out, since they're loose. DS was able to pull the outlet covers OUT without effort for a bunch of them. Some of the cabinet doors need to be replaced. Some of the door knobs to be swapped out.
DH keeps freaking out and my dad keeps talking as if we're going to need to break our lease and find a new apartment--he even talked about a few other places for us to look at. Even if we were legally able to break the lease, we'd be out EVERYTHING that we paid.
I jusst st want to be moved out of here and into my own place. This crap is stressing me out and everyone keeps trying to tell me to relax...
Definitely some bummers in there, but it doesn't sound like you need to worry about not moving in quite yet. Rentals unfortunately mean compromising on some things you would never accept as a homeowner. All of the things you list would need fixing if you owned the place. Stuff like cabinet doors, doorknobs, or even uneven floors, though, are probably overlookable in a rental. Definitely doesn't hurt to talk to your landlord about it anyway, and safety-related issues like outlets need to be dealt with, but I wouldn't stress over the rest. If there are things that your landlord isn't dealing with that aren't safety related that still make you crazy... Well, you can accomplish a surprising amount with a screwdriver and the occasional trip to the hardware store. The glorious thing about apartments is that they're temporary.
If it makes you feel any better, I lived 3 years in my last apartment with peeling paint in my shower and kitchen sink, and with a light switch that didn't control anything in the apartment. In this apartment, the doorknobs all stick (meaning we have trouble latching some of the doors), the kitchen ceiling fan rattles, there's not a single overhead light in the living room, and we wound up replacing a couple shower fixtures because they sprayed water everywhere. It's a nice apartment, and the landlord is an upstanding guy, but such is the peril of renting that things we'd love to do (replacing the fan, redoing the doorknobs, installing real lighting in the main room) are things that just aren't worth fretting over. You can bet that we'd have them all fixed yesterday I'd we owned the place, but since we don't... Meh.
Especially if your dad is a homeowner, I'd take his panic with a grain of salt.
Their big concern is that some of the things may have been caused by water damage. I think they're overreacting and we just need to give the list of things that need to be fixed to management and keep moving in. I'm just done with them freaking out and talking about us breaking the lease and things like that. I just want to move in, get settled, and build my joke before I give birth. They're stressing me out, and that's not what I need right now.
I would definitely make a list and document at move in though, if only to prove that you did not cause said damages when you move out. Places have swindled tenants out of security deposits for much less. Hang in there, sister.
We're definitely documenting anything and everything. DH forgot to do it at our last place (I was at work when him and one of our roommates at the time did the walk through), so he's learned his lesson. Most of the stuff is an easy fix, like replacing the door knobs or cabinet doors. Those are things that we can just have them fix when they have the chance to send someone. The floor is something we'll just have to live with.
I really like Chipotle but I hate their chips. They are soooo salty tasting
I get a small bag of chips, mash it up , and sprinkle them on the top of my burrito bowl. I squeeze lime juice on top and it's like the best thing ever. i agree though that the chips alone have too much lime flavored salt or something
I get a bowl without rice, and a bag of chips, and make my own nachos. It's fabulous. I agree, though, that the chips are way salty on their own - I can't eat them plain or just with guac or salsa; I need ALL the toppings.
This morning when my husband was getting out of bed and I was still lounging (I cut my work week down to 4 days yayyy) he looks at me and asks what happened to my hips.... Me all confused tell him nothing except that I have some pain in them most likely from my ligaments loosening. He tells me that it looks all bruised, and comes over to get a closer look. No bruises, just my new stretch marks

Their guacamole though. mmmm......
Their guacamole is good! That's why I wish they offered low or no salt chips as well (which are actually even hard to find at the grocery store). I have even brought my own tortilla chips to Chipotle before so I could eat their guacamole with them.

If the chips are too salty, means tortilla person who is opening that station that day doesn't know proper procedure. And I'm over the guac. Lol

UO I hate chipotle. Please don't kick me out! More for you??

I don't hate you I actually hate them as a company but I like their food. I used to like it a lot more than I do now. I probably ate it too much. I like Moe's more.

I haven't had Chipotle since it made me puke while I was pregnant with DS... That was the ONLY time I puked that pregnancy, and it was not pretty.
Soooo random (but that's what this board is for, right?!?) but I'm 99.99% sure I lost my mucous plug last night... don't worry, I didn't even take a picture, let alone consider posting a picture (I did look it up on Dr. Google though and yuck... but legit). I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything is happening now and we could still be weeks away, but holy heck this made everything so real for me!
All I can think is, get your shit together Miranda because ready or not, here she comes.

While it doesn't indicate labor is right away, it usually DOES mean your cervix is changing! (Which also means nothing.. LOL) Buy yay for that anyway
3 miscarriages - 1 DS (6) - 1 DD (3) - #3 due March 30!
@CCLow87 yeah there was a lot of frantic googling at first, and then I calmed down, ha ha ha. Purchased the remaining items off my registry today though just in case she comes early!
Coworker almost made me cry. He was cleaning out his desk (today is his last day), and I noticed that he still had a chocolate from our deceased coworker in the top drawer. Neither one of us had the heart to eat the last piece that our coworker gave us, so we both kept ours. Mine is still in my rain coat.
So, I temporarily removed my rings when I started swelling up a while ago... then put them back on, because I didn't feel right not wearing them. We're now at the point where it's a do or die, get-it-off-now-or-it-won't-come-off-until-you-deliver decision; if I wait any longer to take them off, I'll need someone to cut them off. For you STMs, is there any reason that I might not be able to wear my rings while I deliver? I know they made my husband take his off during his surgery, but that was on his shoulder and I don't know if a C-section would involve the same precautions.

Not that I know of. My mom kept telling me not to wear any of my jewelry to the hospital, but they never told me to take it off during birth or my surgery in September.

I didn't wear mine when I went to the hospital. I just felt it was one less thing to worry about.

I wore all my jewelry for my delivery with DD (ring, necklace, stud earrings and a toe ring) and no one mentioned anything about it as a potential problem with a c-section. A nurse commented on my necklace, so I know she noticed it.
@AGK2015mine stopped fitting comfortably a while ago, so I asked DH to get me a Qalo for our anniversary (comfy silicone band, about $20). I'll probably try to put my rings on for our family pics next weekend, but otherwise they're staying off until post birth. My wedding band was really uncomfortable because of the pattern, so even though I could usually still get it off and on, I didn't want to wear it on a daily basis.
I've never been to Chipotle and there's one a couple of miles from my house. Same for Moes and it's even closer. I don't usually pay that much mind to it, but the Chipotle bad press was hard to ignore. I do have a coupon for a free burrito though so I may need to suck it up and take my chances for some free foods.
I just want to take a minute to get the world off my shoulders. Feel free to ignore it.
So I'm 36 weeks today, and everything seems fine. I'm sick with a cold though, but otherwise everything's good. My doc said I have at least a week before I should expect signs of labor, but to stay aware of any. My fiancé is my birth partner, and he has to cover for his boss for a week starting next Friday, so I literally cannot go into labor for about two weeks if I want to keep my sanity. We are assembling the crib tomorrow, buying the car seat tonight, and some time this weekend packing my hospital bag. Next Tuesday, I get to teach my fiancé how to drive for the first time in his life so that we can get his week-old permit upgraded to a license before the baby comes because I'll be banned from driving for two weeks. I have nothing against him, but I don't see how it is possible to pass the driving exam if you've only just learned how to drive that week, or week before, whenever we get around to taking it. My feet have started to get swollen so I have to elevate them constantly, but my doctor wants me to start walking a lot so that we can make sure my baby gets into the correct position. I feel very overwhelmed and out of time. On top of that, with being sick, I keep worrying that my water will break every time I cough.
New FFFC: I think Marco Rubio is extremely good looking and I would totally bone him. I could totally do a sexy, dirty conservative menage a trois with him and Aaron Schock (or maybe Paul Ryan? Screw it, let's make it a foursome!). If only the Republican debate had touched on HIS size instead of just Trump's!
In other news, husband and I are too broken and too large, respectively, to get it on, so apparently my fantasy life and libido are spinning out of control.

This has been my entire pregnancy. First, he was scared to hurt the baby and now I'm just so round that it takes entirely too much effort after working a whole day. I've definitely researched how soon after delivery sex is ok.

I was the person who had sex before it was approved by my doctor PP. As soon as the stitches were out, it was on.
Thankfully DH is not under the impression that his penis is hurting LO this time around. I'm also REALLY hoping he doesn't deny me sex the last couple of weeks like he did last time.
@AmadorRose - I feel ya, girlfriend. Our libidos have always been a little out of sync, and pregnancy has not helped. It was a huge issue early on and kind of bruised my ego, but I find that the larger I get the more quietly grateful I am that I don't have to put forth any effort to get in uncomfortable positions or exert myself in any way. That said, once this kid is out, I'm gonna need him to make up for lost time.
@fbanke42 I gave him until 37 weeks to figure out the hows because that's one method I'll happily be try to induce labor. Hey, it helps soften the cervix! He's still convinced that sex is the reason I miscarried in June.
@AGK2015 we were newlyweds And I agree, it's a huge ego killer. I've just come to accept it...for better or worse, right?
Random bored thought: does anyone else play head or butt? One area of my belly will push out and I can differentiate between limbs and thorax, but I can never tell which end is which.
@AmadorRose I try but can never tell . But I had a growth scan today and she showed me he was head down, like way way down, and his butt is right under my right ribs.
