Night sweats before/during AF

I've had them before, so I'm not totally surprised when they happen, but the last 3 nights, (before & during AF currently) I have been waking up sweating profusely in the night....with the air conditioner on!
Also, I just had déjà vu as I was typing this.
(I read somewhere it means you're on the right path)....
I feel like Sherlock Holmes.

I have a drs appt with my PCP on aug.10th, I have zero confidence in her actually helping me, so no expectations here.
Can't women go see an endocrinologist even if they aren't TTC?
Because my insurance won't cover an RE.
There's gotta be something someone can do to check my hormone levels.
Either that or I need to go see a naturopath again.

@jennok they checked basics for my thyroid, all normal. I would have to see a specialist for a more complete panel.

I have night sweats while taking progesterone. It is a symptom of high progesterone level so it makes sense with right before AF. Also, you should be able to get PCP to run levels of anything. They can figure out how to justify it with the right diagnosis code. 
FYI - I have no infertility coverage and went to RE on my own and insurance paid for my first visit and all bloodwork ordered and there was a lot!

My GYN ordered hormone levels be tested at specific times during cycle, just like the RE recommended when we went to one (they wanted to repeat everything in their lab, including SA). I thought PCP would be able to do the same as my GYN as part of well-woman care, but I don't know what the rules are. Just wondering if your PCP can, but won't. :-?
