1st Trimester

6 Weeks pregnant, no symptoms and scared of another miscarriage

My first pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. For the whole 9 weeks I never felt any pregnancy symptoms, not even sensitive boobs. I could not help but think that there was a link between my lack of symptoms and my miscarriage. I am 6 weeks pregnant and, again, feel no symptoms. Of course the lack of symptoms is not making my anxiety any better. I remember reading somewhere that nausea means a pregnancy is progressing well. I would like to know if that is true? I am just scared that I will miscarry again because I don't have any symptoms.

  • Just like pp have said, no symptoms doesn't mean a non viable pregnancy. I've been through 5 very healthy pregnancies that produced very healthy babies and never got anything worse than heartburn in the 3rd trimester. I'm now pregnant with my 6th and am just learning about all the fun things I missed (nope, they're not really fun). Lol. Be thankful you're not dealing with it! Congrats on your pregnancy and good luck! :)

  • I had zero symptoms with ds. No nausea, no sore boobs, nothing. Most of the research I've read has said that you are only slightly less likely to miscarry if you have Morning sickness, but that is it. Not having symptoms does not increase your risk in anyway. I can understand your concern with a history of mmc, but statistics are on your side and the baby is most likely fine. Positive thoughts your way.
  • Symptoms come and go and you may be a lucky one who doesn't have to deal with many. Honestly unless you see bright red blood, I would not be worrying so much. I went through the same thing and still am when I don't have any symptoms I'm thinking "is everything alright in there?"

  • I'm 6+1 and my symptoms are also minimal! Fingers crossed for us xx
  • Thanks for all the reassuring replies! I do feel much better. I am tired and hungry all the time, that is at least two symptoms.
  • I'm 8w3d and only have minimal symptoms that come and go.
  • @mc123mc I can totally relate to everything you wrote! Thanks for the encouragement and just writing this out, it's comforting to know others are also going through this waiting process. I wish you all the best xxx
  • I am also 6 weeks and have had basically zero symptoms, aside from having to wake up to pee in the middle of the night. This is my first and I agree it can be scary not to feel pregnant at all. Glad I'm not alone!
  • I am almost six weeks and people keep telling me and scaring me about miscarriage. I am generally healthy. How do I get over this fear. I am very crampy and im not sure if thats normally or not this early. I dont really have any symptoms other than my boobs hurting awful. How can u relax and not think so negitive.
  • @babypig1992 the crampy feeling is very normal. The deal about morning sickness is that you don't actually have to go through it to have a healthy pregnancy. I've been through 5 very normal, healthy pregnancies that resulted in 5 healthy babies and was never sick. I'm currently on my 6th and am experiencing all the (not so much) fun I missed before. Count yourself as one of the lucky ones! :) congrats on your pregnancy, stay happy and good luck!

  • Thank you so much. This is my first pregnancy so im not sure what to feel or what is normal and what is not.
  • Hey;) I am 5 weeks and 2 days.. Lol I have had only minimal symptoms as well..I panic everyday thinking that I am not pregnant! .. I guess its a good thing to not feel anything but then again I'm scared...I have 3 more weeks till I go to the doctor!! I hope all is well with you now!;)
  • @kynbar5 oh my gosh, number 6! How amazing! That's crazy u barely had any symptoms the first 5 times!
  • @tripledaggerWed95976 it is crazy but believe me when I say I'm more than making up for it not being hard enough before lol. We had decided this would be our last though so I guess the baby decided they may as well make the most of it! ;)

  • @kynbar5 u poor thing! I definitely feel ur pain! It's 5:20am I've been up for 2 hours tossing and turning and intermittently throwing up. Blehhh. It will all be worth it in about 7 more months though! <3
  • Thank you for posting this! I do not feel nausea or sickness, but fatigue and sore breasts are reeeeall. I read the sicker you are the less likely you are to have a miscarriage in "your pregnancy week by week" book. It horrified me. I understand! Sending good thoughts to all for healthy pregnancies!
  • @MrsHuettGarcia ummm I'd start doubting everything in that book. The amount of nausea you feel has no bearing on the viability of a pregnancy.
