This is my second pregnancy and I've been waking up in the middle of the night to go potty for about a week. I usually get up 3 times a night at least. This morning I woke up and thought it was so odd I had only gotten up once last night and slept the whole night. My pants felt cool and I noticed I peed myself! I was mortified. I haven't peed the bed since I was a little kid. I'm so upset about it. I think I must've just been in a heavy sleep. Has this happened to anyone before? Honestly? I'm just so embarrassed I don't know how it happened.
Re: Please don't make fun. Bed wetting?
I hope my embarrassing story will help others not be so embarrassed later if it happens to them. I was a little worried at first at what others would say but I'm glad I got it off my chest. Lol you ladies are very supportive and I'm so thankful for that!
The good news is they're easy to do. The bad news is it can take a few months for a real difference.
It'll help incontinence as well as help labour and recovery after.
How to do pelvic floor exercises:
- close up your anus as if you're trying to prevent a bowel movement
- at the same time, draw in your vagina as if you're gripping a tampon, and your urethra as if to stop the flow of urine
- at first, do this exercise quickly, tightening and releasing the muscles immediately
- then do it slowly, holding the contractions for as long as you can before you relax: try to count to 10
try to do three sets of eight squeezes every day: to help you remember, you could do a set at each meal
The pelvic floor exercises are a great thing to work on in the mean time.
I think it could happen to anyone hun, try not to let it bother you.
Hugs!
