I got told off by my best friend for suggesting I might buy some baby mouse ears at Disney World. She says it's too early and she'll send them to me when it's time. I know she means well, but I do kind of want the experience of buying it, even if that is totally silly. She is looking forward to spoiling my kids rotten one day.

Psshh, some people buy things before they're even pregnant. I agree that it would me more meaningful to get it on a trip that you took to Disney World, and later on when you take your kid to Disney World, you'll have a neat story to tell them, You could even show them the shop where y'all bought it. That's pretty special.

In other words, I would tell your friend off right back ;)

I might just buy some and not tell her (with Baby S) on them and then she can buy me a pair with the baby's name when we know it :)

  • Speaking of cheesy pregnant lady shirts and onesies I cannot wait to get home and settled in from this weekend to make myself a 'preggers' shirt and a 'future Red Raider' onesie to take pics to start sending to family after the Doctor on Wednesday.

This is a time that I am glad I caught the crafty bug before kids... don't have to spend all that money on cute/ personalized stuff on Etsy because I spent WAY more to be able to DIY it...
  • I bought a onesie to tell Hubby we were pregnant and a picture frame. Trying to he off to make sure this is a healthy pregnancy before buying anything else.

Do it! That's actually what DH and I are planning for our announcement. We both have ear hats with our name... So we're going to get one with Baby on it and get our picture taken in front of the castle. :)
  • I really wanted to do that but my husband is really not keen on that. He wants to announce with some kind of science joke. I might have to pull out the tears.

  • Just say you want to take the picture 'just in case'. ;)

Another cute Disney one I found was getting one of the first visit pins, writing baby whatever on it, and pinning it on your belly.
  • I have to start over with baby things. Everything I had had been used for 3-4 kids. I'm not buying anything until after 20 weeks, but I do have a growing wish list.
  • Just ordered a pair of black and white cat print baby pants from Target. OMG. I don't even are if they are a little girly. They were like $3! Score!
  • @kkmalinowski I got my Ph.D. from Texas Tech - no team spirit whatsoever, though =) My appointment is also Wednesday. Thought it was funny we had two things in common.

  • I got a killer deal on a travel system this weekend... $45 for a $200 system brand new in box. I know it's early but if this pregnancy isn't successful we will adopt (we've been struggling wth secondary infertility and decided before we got our BfP)

That is a seriously amazing deal!!!

No purchases here yet. We have most of what we need already. Need a new car seat and I want an Ergo this go round. My first purchase will probably just be diapers. Oh so exciting. lol

  • JCP has some great deals on carters summer stuff. I got 3 boy outfits and 3 girl outfits, and then 3 t-shirts for DS. Between coupons and rewards I paid $6. Whatever outfits we don't need I will keep for gifts or swap.
We will be waiting til we know gender to make any big purchases since we have nothing from DS and DD who are 8 and 5 and I will totally be buying the cutsie colors/prints/etc that are gender specific. This one will be our LAST!

Haha I got my BSN there and am getting my masters from the university of alabama.. no school pride there, my house wrecks 'em rather than roll tide!!!!
  • I have started buying Cloth Diapers as I plan to cloth diaper and you need so many and they are not cheap! I want to wait to find out what it is though so I can get some cute girl ones or cute little dude ones :)

    So excited!!!
  • I got an adorable gender neutral onesie from the Smithsonian I visited this weekend. It makes me happy/it feel more real
  • No purchases here: I'm trying to wait til the second trimester. But I may or may not have created an entire registry. X_X

  • I've gone further and have made a secret baby registry no one can see but me haha. We don't need too many essentials bc of DD and since having DD we know what we really need vs what companies tell you you need. I've got my eye on a baby bjorn, a stroller DD can sit on as well as have LO in the front of, and one of those formula Keurig things just in case my milk poops out on me again.

Books so totally do not count. We are book nerds here (even had a library themed wedding) and I have a fondness for classic children's lit and picture books especially. Plus, I WORK with kids. Those purchases began ages ago.

With my first pregnancy (MC) I bought a few extra cute maternity tops, so I still have those. I did find another clearance top and one too pretty to pass up, so a bit of guilt there.

Ironically, I did recently buy a little girl's outfit. I was starting to lose hope, but I let myself purchase it in a vote of confidence for the future, figuring even if we had only ever had sons, we could pass it on someday. I would have been only 1-2 weeks at that point-- not actually pregnant yet! Who knows? Maybe it will be a girl!
  • I haven't bought anything yet. My bank account is hoping it's a boy, because if it's a girl...I will be poor!

I did sell/donate most of Ian's clothes...so If its a boy, then I get to buy all new clothes, which I'm totally excited about. We did buy gender neutral big ticket items when we had our son, so those are covered as well.

  • We broke down and bought one giraffe WubbaNub. So cute!
  • DH really wanted to buy something to commemorate my US so we stopped at target and bought tiny monster slippers haha. Random, and not necessarily anything special, but our first purchase for first baby :-)
  • Nothing specific for this LO yet. We have a bunch of hand downs from DD that are gender neutral, but we're waiting to see the first ultrasound before we buy anything. I definitely want to starting buy stuff though....using all my restraint!

  • Yes and No.   I have not bought anything specifically for this baby yet.  However, when we found out we were pregnant earlier this year we bought some stuff.  It ended in MC though.  So we went a little crazy kinda earlier this year.  I have Sesame Street nursery wall clings, two strollers (these were bought before we even TTC.  got a deal at Good Will), a baby swing (same situation as the strollers), a lot of kids books from Good Will, a few onesies that I got on clearance racks at various stores, I knitted a lot of baby hats and booties.  We shop at the Good Will a lot and we have a TON of baby/kids toys.  Lots of VTech and Leap Frog stuff, a tricycle, Kota My Triceratops ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lttTZDtdc4 is the commercial for it ) we found at the Good Will for 25 dollars, and a John Deer Tractor thing (kind of like a Barbie Jeep but a tractor).  When we see stuff at Good Will we buy it and store it.  I'd say we have the first birthday and first Christmas covered!!!!!! lol  We have pictures for the nursery and an adorable teddy bear lamp.  I'd say not including the dinosaur we got about 200 or more dollars worth of stuff for like 50.    I'm going to knit some more hats and booties and stuff for this one.

  • I got a changing table/dresser for free a few weeks back. I am picking up a used 4-in-one crib and bookshelf tomorrow for $85.

I just found out I am pregnant this morning. I just couldn't pass up the good deals even if I would have gotten a BFN.

OH MY GOSH! Formula keurig?! You just blew my mind. I want that!

I know a lot of ppl with kids just a little older than mine so I get tons and tons of hand me downs. I barely spent anything on last baby. But we will need new car seat and double stroller And a twin bed for our oldest. But my parents are going to want to buy those. Plus I'd like to buy a house next year when my lease is up so I'm trying to like save every penny possible. That can be my baby buy

  • I wanted to buy ALL THE THINGS my first pregnancy early on. This time I haven't even thought about it. I hope to get away with buying as little as possible this time around!

  • We SO do not have room for anything until we move into our house (in April-ish) so we are saving money now to buy everything later... this 1br apartment blows!
  • So tempting to buy things but I'm waiting to see if this one sticks around first. If all goes well I be a spendy mama come day after thanksgiving sales.!!!!!
I will admit that I have been living on pinterest these last few days. .....
  • We have a lot of what we need from DS, but if this one is a girl I know I won't be able to resist! We cloth diaper so I couldn't help buying a matching newborn diaper to one of my favorite prints. I also got myself a nice pair of maternity skinny jeans to prepare for fall and winter boot weather...last time around the bloat was so annoying I started wearing them around 6-8 weeks!
