Weirdest ways to induce

I need a little entertainment to distract me. What's the weirdest wives tale or tip about how to naturally induce? 

(I'm not looking for real advice here, I'm waiting for baby to do what she will do, I'm hoping for strange things you've heard for a laugh.)

When I lived in California there was a restaurant well known for having a salad dressing that induces labor. I'm sure it's BS and of course I didn't try it but it was just common knowledge where I lived. I'm sure they got a ton of business from uncomfortable, desperate pregnant women. It's a genius scam, really.

A an older gentleman at church told me last week..... His grandmother had 11 kids and when she was ready to have them at the 9 month make she would literally go jump off their porch. X_X

I went in the hospital with my last child and my contractions stopped. Went back home and got some rest and they weren't coming back so decided to do some push ups. Coincidence or not but contractions came back and he was born several hours later:) my mom did the same thing when in labor with my sister. She was going to be sent home so went into the bathroom hospital and did pictures and her contractions started again. Lol.

When I lived in California there was a Preggo Pizza that claimed to induce labor. I've personally never tried it or even heard of it working for someone. It basically had everything under the sun on the pizza.

My grandpa told me when he visited that when my grandma was ready to have the babies (she had 5), they'd go for a car ride in the country down a bumpy road. He also made sure DH knew this before he went back home.

There's a road behind a grocery store here that's especially bumpy everyone says to drive on. My neighbor 100% credits it with starting labor on her oldest.

I ate an entire pineapple overdue with DD1. I felt like an idiot after when I was still pregnant and my mouth was sore and full of cankers.

There's a restaurant near me that will refund your meal if you eat their eggplant parm and don't go into labor within 48 hours. They even have an eggplant babies photo gallery on their website haha

I just read this and decided to do some push ups... 5 minutes later I went to the bathroom
And lost my mucus plug and I'm now on the couch with cramps that feel like the start of contractions. Again, could be total coincidence because I've been 3 centimeters all week and had my membranes stripped on Thursday.. But I've felt no signs of labor until I just did these push ups for fun lol. I'll keep you posted if I actually end up in labor!

This is scientifically supported. It releases oxytocin, which is required for labor to progress (pitocin is basically a man-made oxytocin). Same with sex - it releases oxytocin. Also, the prostaglandins in semen help ripen the cervix.

But for a fun one, someone once told me to crab walk (like on all 4 hands and feet but with your belly facing toward the sky instead of the floor) around my living room. I can't imagine even physically being able to do that at 40 weeks but what evs.

For the nipple stimulation it is true that is scientifically proven. Last night my DH and I were initiate for the first time in forever, when he messing around with that area my uterus automatically started to cramp and contract. I got scared and told him he's not allowed to do that anymore! haha

Too funny! My husband has suggested riding the Harley on the railroad tracks.

I've always heard spicy food, but since toast gives me heartburn I don't think I'll be trying that one when the time gets closer.

I would totally rather eat eggplant parm than jump off my porch or drive down a bumpy road. If you don't get a baby, you get a free meal. That is freakin' awesome.

I'm currently bathing in clary sage oil for the second night in a row. This stuff is potent but I've heard from some that even smelling it sent them into labor. It is relaxing, though.

We have a historic brick street in town and the old people around here say to drive down "main" at 35 to go in labor...it will probably throw out everyone's back and maybe get whiplash but still! Lol!!!

Also eat white castles burgers! Ugh the heartburn that would create...or the craps! $-) lol!

Apparently in my circle of friends, all you have to do is schedule an induction and you'll go into labor that morning.

Someone told me if I drank soy sauce it would start labor.  :-S

Some of these sound truly torturesome! Especially the castor oil- ugh stomach cramps AND uterine cramps? Nope. I have an overdue friend who has said she is going to try the castor oil, so I will let you all know if it works for her, she's braver than I to try it.

Update on the push ups...they didn't work.. The cramping stopped and now my arms are sore from all those push ups!

Eat/drink walnut oil. At least I heard that was the secret ingredient in the salad dressing that was putting women into labor.

With DS1 I sampled every tea I could at teavanna in the mall, hoping some random herb would put me in labor. Lol It didn't work but the tea was good!

I ate a whole pineapple with my first son.  I also did about 100 jumping jacks over the course of the day.  Don't know if it was a coincidence or not, but my water broke that evening!

I also heard jumping jacks. My aunt said that's what put her into labor with my cousin!
