Skin tags???

Okay so this might be TMI but I got a skin tag on my inner leg way up by my crotch like a few inches away from it. I looked online and I guess its common in pregnancies??? Anyone else have this problem? It never used to have feeling but now its huge and red and theres a small white one growing literally right next to it like touching and the area just feels really irritated

Re: Skin tags???

  • I've gotten about 5 or 6 of them so far since being pregnant. Most of them are really small, but I still really kind of hate them. Just another one of those things I guess we have to put up with.

  • I don't have any down there but I got them on my chest and near my arm pits! I scratched one off today. Yuck! I'm hoping all this goes away!
  • I have one on my thigh close to where you described yours being. I freaking hate it. Once in a while it feels like the area is being pinched. I don't have the guts to cut it off myself and my SO refuses to do it for me. Lol

  • I haven't gotten any skin tags, but I've had some moles grow larger in size.  From what I've read, both are possible developments during pregnancy.  Skin tags usually disappear a few months after delivery (and if you can't wait that long, they can be easily removed).  Moles may or may not shrink back to their normal size once the baby is born.  If a mole gets slightly bigger and stays symmetrical in shape, it's probably nothing to worry about.  But if it grows a lot, takes on a strange shape or additional colors, becomes raised when it once was flat, is painful, itchy, tender, red, or if it bleeds or crusts over, those are all reasons to see a doctor.

One of mine has become pretty ugly, so I'm planning to see a dermatologist in the near future.  Good luck, ladies!
  • I've had a few develop around eyes--- they're driving me nuts! I hope they go away shortly after delivery!
  • I've gotten them in the worst places. TMI: one under my left nip, a couple on my lower cheeks, and one in my lady garden. They all suck and they better go away after baby.
  • I've had quite a few. On my stomach, under my arm, breasts etc. They won't go away after, but they are easily removed:)

Three near my eyes and it has me so bummed out. I didn't know they go away and now I have hope.
  • I had one in the bikini line area on my leg. I read that doctors won't remove them during pregnancy in case of infection. Mine was irritating me, so I put a band aid over it. Someone online said that would dry it out and make it fall off, and I totally didn't believe it, but it worked for me! I would guess it's less likely to cause an infection getting it off that way instead of cutting it off, so that might be something for you to try!
  • I got a few by my armpits and I just cut them off with sharp sewing scissors. Fast and painless. I couldn't stand shirts and bras rubbing on them.
  • I've gotten a ton around my neck it's disgusting but I've heard there's not much of a point in removing them during pregnancy since your hormone levels which caused them to grow in the first place are still the same and may just cause them to regrow in the same spot. I guess it's just something else to wait for until after the baby comes
  • I have them everywhere!
  • Apple cider vinegar on a q-tip held on them a few minutes everyday will get rid of them. I have gotten a bunch since getting pregnant and most of them are gone after this treatment. I get them even when I'm not pregnant and have always used this to get rid of them.
  • I have them in my back and chest and a few on my arms, They are worse this pregnancy but they do go away. The ugly part of pregnancy no one talks about.
  • I had them, but they're starting to fall/rub off on their own.
  • I have gotten a few during this pregnancy but I had gotten them before as well. I had a pair of tiny nail cutters and I would just snip them off. It really doesn't hurt and I haven't had any come back. I can't stand them. Ew.

  • I have one and it's freaking huge! Never had them before in my life. I figured I'd wait until after delivery to get rid of it but not sure how I'll go about doing that.
  • Glad to hear I'm not the only one! I've never had them before and I can't wait to get rid of them!
  • I found a teeny tiny one inside my (stretched out) belly button just the other day! Smaller Than the tip of a pen. It really freaked me out lol! But I was able to just pop it off quickly and it only bled a little bit. Those little things are so annoying!
