AdvIl while taking injections for ivf?

the meds are killing my head. The medication list says no Advil during ivf. Can anyone tell me why? It's the only thing that works for me.

My RE told me 500mg of Tylenol was the only pain reliever I could take.  They said you can take Tylenol all through pregnancy also.  I am not currently doing IVF, but experienced a lot of pain from cramps - due to clomid.  I would think it would apply to IVF, but maybe someone doing IVF can clarify. @jnissa

  • No advil, I think it's because it is an anti-inflammatory and technically they want your eggs to get swollen?

They said No to my ibuprofen- which is also a anti-inflammatory.  That makes sense if they want the eggs to swell.

  • I thought it had something to do with implantation but I'm not sure.
  • They told me to hault all medication while on my fertility Meds. I can stay on synthroid, but they didn't want anything else to conflict with the medication working to the best of its ability.

  • It has to do with possibly preventing the eggs from rupturing for ovulation and possibly preventing implantation. Ultimately, you may need another solution as only acetaminophen (Tylenol) is safe for pregnant women.
