Boob question

i know your areolas get darker to help the baby find your nipple, but after breastfeeding do they get lighter again? I am not liking my new look.

Re: Boob question

  • Mine did. After newborn stage my pink started to come back. I breastfed for 7 months and they went back to their normal color.

  • I BF for about a year and mine went back as well. The girls weren't pretty again though. Saggy beaver tails.
  • They do seem to pink up again after a few months. Just to reassure any moms planning on breastfeeding, it's not BF that causes the reduction in breast tissue, it's the hormones of pregnancy. So even if you never breastfed you can not avoid the shrinkage. But boobs full of milk don't droop, so BF as long as you can if that's a concern for you. And it's also so good for your baby. ;) I love the way mine look full of milk... Not so much without the milk. Lol.
  • My aerolas went back to being tiny and light pink after I stopped breastfeeding my first son, but sadly because mine jumped 3 cup sizes, they're not as perky as they once were :(
  • After about 18 months (BFing only twice a day at that point) they looked the same as prepregnancy, and I could wear my old bras. I weaned while pregnant, so I didn't have a droopy phase.

  • No advice from me since I'm a FTM but I sure hope they go back to a normal size and color, I'm so pale and them being so dark and large is not a confidence boost at all. When I get in the shower I'm just like... :-<
  • Yup, they do!

  • Is it weird that mine aren't darker? They have been changing color for the past 4 weeks. They'll be brown one day, light pink the next few...not sure what to make of it :/
  • Had my previous two over ten years ago and I can't even remember what my tits used to look like....but I also don't care! I just remember being amazed that this fat bags where actually useful for something and provided food for my little ones :)
  • The dark color is temporary!
  • Mine are dark too but they'll go back to normal... what I notice tho is my vains being more notables, I'm sure is because they're getting ready to produce milk!. ;)
