November 2015 Moms

Halloween!!

i know we still have a bit to go but since this is one of my favorite holidays I have to ask! most of us will be about 8months around Halloween what is it you plan on doing? Usually my SO and I go to haunted houses, but most don't allow you to go through if you're pregnant. What do you ladies enjoy doing on/for Halloween?
We also allow each other to do makeup and costume choices for the other.. He made me darth maul from Star Wars last years haha. What are yall thinking of dressing up as?

  • @CarrieOct15 - That is SO cool and creative. Love the eyebrows especially! Are you a make-up artist?

With an EDD of 11/1, I'll obviously be missing my friend's annual Halloween party, which I'm a little bummed about.
I've been daydreaming about how to dress up the little one in 2016 - I was enjoying looking at these today: https://www.potterybarnkids.com/shop/baby/halloween/baby-halloween-costumes/? So cute!   (I'm hoping this doesn't count as spam.)

I don't really think it's accurate that "most" of us will be around 8 months at Halloween, but I digress.

My DD keeps switching between Oct 31 and Nov 1 and I keep switching between wanting a Halloween baby and NOT wanting a Halloween baby! I will definitely not be dressing up myself but I have some ideas just in case I need a teeny baby costume.

I'm also hoping for a Halloween baby! My job has an annual Halloween party where we all dress up and win prizes, this year if I'm still pregnant (edd-11/7) I'm leaning towards prom queen or a beer belly bum with a full on mustache and happy trail. I'm going to look hideous but it's all in good fun!

Eta: it's not a party, but just an office day and we have a potluck lunch. No partying for this momma!
  • Kiddo1.0 has chosen to be a Minion this year, which I'm very thankful for because that's a really easy costume to put together. I usually make his costume from scratch so he's been promised something awesome next year. Sprout is due 11/4 but for whatever reason I have a really strong feeling he'll be here early so there's a tiny pair of dungarees and a little yellow shirt in the dresser waiting for him (as the kiddo has already referred to Sprout as his minion in his world domination schemes, it seemed appropriate). Regardless of whether hes here or not, I'm staying home to dole out candy while DH takes the kiddo trick or treating. Our has an annual Horribles' Parade that meets on the common and comes right past our house, so I'm kind of excited just to hang out in our porch and watch the crazy roll by...
  • My c section has now been scheduled for 10/30 so I will probably be spending my favorite time of year in the hospital. My sister and her friend have kindly offered to take the toddler trick or treating so she doesn't get left out.

Thank you @natalknitter15! No, I'm not a makeup artist but it's a hobby of mine.

  • My EDD is between October 30 - November 2.. Im just hoping when he decided to pop out I'm at home where I'm comfortable.. And Halloween would be perfect because I wouldn't be going anywhere so if that's when he wants to pop out then so be it..
  • Mine is due Nov 1st, still deciding on weather I should buy a costume or not also :-?
  • My DD is November 24, so I've been nerding out on what to wear! Halloween is my favorite holiday so I've been searching Pinterest for a while. I'm excited!!
  • I haven't dressed up for Halloween since middle school. But DH and I will be at our church handing out candy to kiddos. We get giant bags together of candy and pass out like 300/year
  • My EDD is Nov 1 so there's a giant chance I won't be doing anything! Halloween is my favorite holiday! :((
  • I'm due November 7th, so assuming I'm not early and it's not freezing, I'll be painting Captain America's shield on my belly because.. well.. Chris Evans. And passing out candy to anyone and everyone that might show up =)
  • I'm having my annual party early this year on 10/17 as I'm due 11/2 and beyond paranoid to have the party on the actual day. Thinking Ripley from alien this year with a face hugger shirt :-D
  • With a nov5th due date and people telling me I wont make it. Ill probably will be trying to stay alive!!
  • This thread is making me want to go out and buy a bag of Halloween candy! Which apparently is already out... Yikes.

  • I'm lazy. I'm wearing a white shirt so my belly can be a full moon, and the pup (Zoey) will be my wereZoey.
  • EDD is 11-09 so I will be so ready to pop! I will be taking my boys out trick or treating around town. My husband laughed at me when I said this! I said it will be good for me :) might help me go into labor earlier :). I will be waddling the entire time and will walk slow but dang it I love taking my kids out!! I don't get into dressing up though
  • I am hoping I get my daughter for Halloween I want to walk the neighborhood with her. She did amazing last year ringing door bells and saying trick or treat. I've taken her every year so far (she's 2)
  • I'm due Nov 4th, so I won't be dressing up, but I'm still going to fantasize about being Ursula with my son as Flounder and my husband as Ariel....
  • This thread is making me want to go out and buy a bag of Halloween candy! Which apparently is already out... Yikes.
Dude, the Michael's near me has effing CHRISTMAS stuff out.  SO not ready for that!
  • Due date of Nov 9th and crossing my fingers I make it to my friend's Halloween party which I plan to attend as Homer Simpson; taking full advantage of the belly!

  • My son's 5th birthday is the 25th so he's having a Halloween/Minecraft birthday party this year on Halloween.  I'm hoping I feel good enough to be a host.  I guess we'll see.

  • I think we are dressing up DS and his two neighborhood buddies as velocirapters and then having one of the husbands dress like Chris Pratt in Jurassic world. I will most likely be some kind of dinosaur.

I'm due one day after you...and if I'm feeling ambitious I might have to steal your idea. I love it!
  • I plan on possibly being in the hospital since I'm due November 1st :)
  • I am pagan so we'll probably be doing some sort of ritual for Samhain/Halloween.
  • I'm not due until 11/20 and I have been looking for a great costume as well!  I don't want to do the cheesy bun in the oven thing.  Why do people keep responding to say that they cant dress up?  I thought the topic was to get ideas for those who can?  Love love love the minion costume for the baby!

Umm.  If you read the OP asks what people plan on doing.  Some of us plan on giving birth or recovering from it.  If you just want to find cute ideas on what you can dress up as go to Pinterest, don't put down other women on here because your reading comprehension is lacking or we haven't provided you the exact information you want.

Definitely didn't say costume ideas. Since I am due a week after I personally don't see myself trying to dress up being 39 weeks pregnant and miserable. Most who said they weren't dressing up said that for the same reasons. If I was due later in the month I would think about dressing up. Plus there actually was a cute couple ideas of dressing up on here.
  • I'm due November 4, but just found out I'll be induced at 39 weeks. So I'll probably be a little busy this Halloween!
  • If I'm lucky I will still be pregnant with the twinkies and DH will be taking our son out so there will be photos of him in a gnome costume. If I'm in the hospital or just barely out our friends will take the kiddo out. I can barely blubber myself to the mailbox (we are on 1 acre) so I'm not even going to pretend I can handle taking the boy trick or treating/ putting on pants at that point in time.
