Current debate wth husband... Do the vent bottle systems really help or not? I think yes but he wants the cheap easy way out and says they don't it's all a gimmick... Reason why we are debating is our nicu baby needed to transition from the standard similac nipples given to us in the hospital so we tried our first sons old playtex ventair nipples only to find they were too hard to feed from and parts were leaking. We moved to dr brown nipple on same bottles and they work great but the playtex bottle itself is leaking at the bottoms still. So I need new bottles and was going to go with dr Browns but he claims its all a gimmick and marketing ploy and we don't need them. Thoughts?!
Re: Bottle debate
I never had any issues nor changed nipples. I used the Similac and Avent bottles.
She had horrible colic and reflux problems and once we switched to Avent we had less problems. We also switched from all Gerber brands to Enfamil gentle ease (that's what worked best for DD) it helped a lot as well finding the formula that worked for her but the bottles made just as much of a difference.
All you can really do is keep trying different brands until you find one that words best for LO, all babies are different and benefit from different things, bottles included!
