Been sitting around and lurking for awhile. Still temping just to keep track of cycles and stepping back while seeing doctors. Hope you don't mind if I post. 

If you've ever taken a break from TTC:

1. What was it for?

2. How long until you actively tried to get pregnant again?

3. How did you know it was the right time to try again?

Medical issues (mine) & Family Health issues (my mom has MS)

2. How long until you actively tried to get pregnant again?
at that time maybe 3 months?

can't put off TTC because there is always something

I had just been accepted in the Radiology Program, and I was honestly afraid they would kick me out, or it would seriously delay my graduation date if I was to get pregnant

2. How long until you actively tried to get pregnant again?

After I was in my last year, we started TTC again. So a little under two years.

3. How did you know it was the right time to try again?

I cried, like ugly crying, when I saw the most adorable mustache onesie ever created in the store. Absolutely ridiculous I know. But in that moment my program director could have kicked me out of the program, and I wouldn't have even batted an eye. I knew then it was time to get back to TTC.

After a MC

2. How long until you actively tried to get pregnant again?

We weren't sure we wanted to try again at all, but talked and decided that we did want to have a baby

1. The 1st time I stopped was due to being diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I had to sort that all out until I was cleared. The 2nd time was because I was fortunate enough to get a promotion at work.

2. The 1st break wass 3 years and the 2nd was from December until May of this past year.

3. I knew because while laying in bed one evening my DH brought it up and told me that he really wants to expand our family. The way he sincerely talked about it melted my usually nongushy heart.

I haven't been in this situation, but @BabyIntegers, I'm curious where this question is coming from for you. Please correct me if I'm wrong (and know that I'm coming from a good place and trying to convey that via text) but I seem to remember less than 2 weeks ago that you planned to step away from TTC/TB to take care of yourself. You are always allowed to post, it's not up to anyone else to give you permission, but maybe your hesitance is due to the things have have gone down in past discussions. Your situation sounds so difficult and so unique that I'm worried you may base your timing/plans on other posters situations that are so very different than yours. To be fair, even if your situation was not so unique and medically complex, other individuals history/time away from ttc/reason for trying again shouldn't influence yours. I hope you can read this as concern for you based upon your previous post history rather than a personal attack. I also hope that things are going well with the doctors appointments you mentioned getting started.

@lionstigersbears Thanks so much. You're very sweet . I'm not going to allow others experiences to influence what the doctors tell me. I'm not like that and I did feel your comment came from a good place. I was just curious to see that other people have had the experience of stepping back from TTC. That is all.

1. What was it for?

Wedding I was in.  Didn't wanna' have to buy a dress too small "just in case" - if I had to do it all over again though, I wouldn't take the break.  Time is too precious to waste.
