To do list checkup

It was a productive weekend in the Sassy household.  Sent in the preregistration paperwork, organized the NB and 3 month clothes, cleaned up the infant carrier, found baby's coming home outfit, made an appointment to update our will, and started shopping for a friend's baby shower.

How are you doing? Check anything off that list?

Re: To do list checkup

  • I have my shower on the 30th so I'm kind of waiting to wash and sort through until the day after. I am working on other things in my house I needed done and know I won't have time to do once my little man is here.
  • Baby's laundry gets started today.

Doctor will be putting in orders to schedule my c-section and tubal ligation soon so I may have a date set for that sometime this week.

I'm still waiting on my ID card to come in the mail from my MCO so I can call and find out which breast pump will be covered and when/how to order it.

The car seat base will be installed next week and also that's when I plan to pack my hospital bag and DS's bag to stay with his grandparents for a few days.

Hopefully this will be a productive week in the Owl household.

  • Here too! Got the pictures framed and hung over his changing table, washed his NB and 0-3 clothes and made a couple freezer meals.  I need to do my paperwork, both for the hospital and for my leave tracking at work.  Blech.  I don't wanna!

  • We got the dresser so I washed the nb and 0-3 clothes, blankets etc. we hung shelves and decorated. We also bought my new car so I'm baby ready and we ordered our car seat which should be delivered this week.

This week we have our final pediatrician appointment and we are going to preregister at the hospital
  • I've been focusing on deep cleaning our house, I get a little crazy I have 3 cleaning stages to each room.
We had a good weekend too, here's what we got done:

    - master bedroom/nursery cleaned to stage 1
    - bought new curtains & bedding set
    - bought camcorder
    - finalized registry
    - ordered insert cards
    - completed online birthing class
    - freezer meal shopping list

I finally have a week that I don't have to be baking so I'm hoping to get these to-do's checked off by next week if I can.
    - reorganize closets and dressers
    - donate items we don't need, and put keepsakes into storage
    - wash walls, window and blinds in master/nursery
    - order in supplies for next week
    - clean kitchen to stage 1

  • I washed all clothes and blankets and organized them so nursery is complete. We have to do a will and up our life insurance so should prob get on that soon as well!

Waiting on cleaning bottles and installing car seat until end of sept prob. May pack bag this week at 30 weeks as I had a dream that scared me last night :-)
  • Freezer meals are coming along, I have meals and snacks in the deep freeze and continue to add as I go. This weekend was pumpkin muffins, banana walnut muffins, quiche, and beefless (vegetarian) stew! I was a cooking/baking machine! :)

Coming home outfits picked! One NB and one 0-3 just incase little man is a chubby one! I sorted and washed DDs baby stuff, pulled out whatever we could re-use for DS - we're good until the 6 mos range...

Hospital bag contents has been laid out, I think I have 95% of everything, just need to go through the list again and pack the bag...

Carseat has been cleaned and will need to be installed, but waiting for an angle adjuster for DDs carseat before we can move hers over and make room for DSs.

I also want to go through DDs toys and see if I can pack away some stuff (she's got waaay too much reign of the space we have with all of her toys). I'd like to tidy up as much as I can so that there's less to clean (and step on) once DS arrives.

I'm curious. What are the three stages of cleaning?

  • Finally got our junk room turned into a den so I have a place to nurse. It's a game room/library/game room/ craft corner. But it's done! Also got dresser finished painted and hardware put on and clothes inside. DH finally put the crib together. Very successful weekend for us.

  • We moved DS1 into the smaller bedroom, and moved DD1 into the bigger bedroom (she and the baby will share the bigger room), deep cleaned and painted both rooms, and hung curtains. Tonight DH is going to bring down all of DD1's baby clothes and the baby's dresser so I can begin sorting and washing. All that's left for "setting up" will be the crib, but I'm not going to stress over that since the baby will be in a bassinet in our room for the first couple of months.

  • we had a pretty productive weekend too. after the shower last weekend, this weekend we went shopping for missing stuff. the big thing was a bassinet. and because it was the end of tax-free week here in MD we stocked up on some diapers and i purchased some nursing bras and a cheap robe for the hospital. and we finally finished a name art project that i have been working on and off on for 3 weeks. now i have to write thank yous which i have been putting off!!
  • I need to write thank you notes, schedule a check up for my car, buy clothing, diapers, and things we didn't get at the shower. I also need to have both car seat bases installed.
  • I finally got the last two big things on ebay so that we can convert the craft room to a nursery, hopefully they will sell.  Next week when DS is in school I will do a deep cleaning of the house (so much easier with only one kiddo under foot!)  In August I would still like to schedule my hospital tour, clean the carpets and write up a schedule for the kids so whoever ends up watching them will have everything in writing.

I'm glad you said pediatrician and pre-register! I need to do both but had completely forgotten about them.
  • I considered making a baby related to-do list. That's something, right?
I also did some thank you notes for a little shower some friends threw.

We need to finish floors in babies room and guest room, we got them installed first week of july. I have zero confidence we will have it done before baby is here :(

  • I have been cleaning every room from top to bottom. This weekend was the living room.

I did a bunch of yard work.

I almost have our whole pantry stocked with dry goods after another shopping trip this weekend.

I'm curious. What are the three stages of cleaning?

Im sure they are things everyone does... They probably don't need names lol. I just break it into stages since it's usually too much to do in one day.
Stage 1 is everyday clean. Everything is put away, dusted, mopped and vacummed, etc.
Stage 2 is reorganization. I empty and reorganize all the drawers, cabinets, pantry and closets. Washing the contents as I go, getting rid of things we don't need, putting things into storage.
Stage 3 is sanitization. I move, rearrange, clean, rinse and polish all the furniture, hardware, wash carpets, walls, windows, appliances, electronics, lights, etc. Touch up paint, and anything else as needed.

That sounds amazing. I would love to get all that done!! I'm lucky if I actually do all of stage 1...
  • I'm doing this too but I'm all over the place. I'm currently organizing and touching up paint. I need to santize everything but I feel like I need a cleaning crew to do that. I'm just too tired!!

  • In the past week I've: organized/put away baby shower gifts, sent in preregistration paper, called the pediatrician's office to see if we needed to do anything before baby gets here, sent in FMLA paperwork and ordered a few items for newborn photos

I have 4 days off work right now so I have some things to get done this week:
Thank you cards for baby shower
Wash baby clothes (I've already washed and separated stuff that was given to us, but haven't taken tags off any new stuff yet so will do the small sizes only)

    In the next couple weeks:
    Hospital tour
    Breastfeeding class
    Infant CPR class
    Install carseat
    Pack hospital bag
Stock up on some household things I don't want to be running out of in the first month or so

The list really isn't too long! I'm so ready!!! :)  There is nothing on it that I will freak out about if baby comes first!
