Re: Weekly Check-in 8/16

  • This was our last week with my family, felt awful leaving my mom, she is really going to miss her grand baby.
Now we're on the long road back to AZ. Where I'm not looking forward to being, as nice as it will be to have my own space.
Am actually more seriously considering leaving my job for something more part time and flexible so we can spend more summers up north.
Biggest stress this week is that LO has stopped taking a bottle. I bought some new nipples and bottle styles to try and have one week before I go back to work, to get him bottle feeding. No pressure!

QOTW -My mom planned plenty of fun parties when i was a kid, but My 16th was probably the best. Didn't have a fancy celebration but I was excited to be all grown up, working my first job and driving my first car, which parents helped a lot to make happen. They surprised me with a new stereo for it, which was the best gift!

  • My week.... well, it was my birthday. We celebrated by all passing around a stomach bug. Then we celebrated for real over the weekend once we were all better.

Most memorable birthday. Let's see, having a nasty stomach flu was pretty memorable

Awww, so sorry! DH was sick over Christmas a couple years ago while visiting his out of state family. As we were leaving, they got sick. Was terrible :(

  • My week was exhausting with my h out of town and me being so hormonal. It's really good to have him back. I'm trying to catch up now. I really feel like I just need to sleep for a week LOL.

My most memorable birthday was the year I had a party and all my guests decided it would be funny to run off and leave me by myself. I think I was in the fourth grade. I remember going back in the house crying and feeling like such an outsider and so alone. I know my mom got really upset but I can't remember if anyone came back.

  • We are in find the new sitter mode before school starts back up so that has been stressful.  We have someone coming tomorrow so fingers crossed that she works out.  She seems good but we shall see.  I wish I didn't have to work :(  Even on the craziest of days where I want to pull my hair out with the 2 of them I just hate that I have to go back to work soon.

Best Brithday:  I've never been big on my birthday but my husband is the birthday monster.  He has a birthday MONTH, I kid you not!  Every year the day after his birthday he replies, to anyone who will listen, "today is the saddest day of the year, because it is the furthest you will ever be from your next birthday."  Mellow dramatic much? LOL. My hubs and I are 4 years apart.  We met when we were older (I was 35 and he was almost 40).  We had been dating for almost a year and things were going well so I decided to take him to Boston to celebrate his 40th.  He is a HUGE red sox fan so we went to 2 games at Fenway while we were there.  He is also a history teacher so he had a blast doing all the historical stuff as well.  We both have been to Boston numerous times before (seperately) but this was our frist real vacation as a couple.  He had a blast and still to this day talks about that trip and how he wants to do it again.  This time we would be schlepping 2 kids with us LOL.  Funny how life turns out!

  • @Guennie ... that's horrible.  I am sorry that you had a bad birthday.

@Geeps2 ... lol at your hubby.

My week was okay.  Still can't seem to get as much done as I want to.  Still unpacking the house ans wondering if we'll ever be done.

I guess my favorite bday was my 40th.  My sister planned a surprise bday party for me back in Jersey about a month before I turned 40.  Then my fiance and I took a trip to San Diego and went to the zoo on my 40th.
