Baby panic attacks ?

my son is two months even before he hit two months he would sleep but randomly wake up panicking. Head moving side to side fast n eyes moving back n fourth heavy paced breathing I have to put my face right in front of his and touchhis face n tell him I'm here it's ok calm down I try to put his pacifier and when I do he grabs on to my hand/arm super tight and doesn't want me to let go he could even be right next to me and still does this. Day and night mostly at night. I have a nightlight for him too. Sometimes it's so bad If the paci doesn't work and he cries I have to pick im up and he falls back asleep in my arms

I don't have an answer as to why this happens, but I can tell you that your baby isn't the only one. My baby is 3 weeks old and he has done the same thing. I think mine is because he falls asleep in my arms then wakes up in his napper alone and it startles him. He also does a lot of rem sleep and it may startle him awake. Hope your little one gets better!

Maybe record it and show to his pediatrician to see what they say.  But it sounds like REM ("active sleep") in infants, and DS does something very similar in his sleep.  It's really weird to watch at first with the spasms, heavy/weird breathing, little cries and even open eyes.  

We took an infant sleep class, and our instructor told us to not mess with them unless they do the "come get me" cry.  Before hearing that, as soon as we heard DS make little cries in the night, we would immediately pick him up to feed.  We realized he was actually still sleeping, and we were truly waking him up and startling the crap out of him.

Thanks same lol he falls aslp in my arms and wakes up like whoa how could u mom lol or if I pass him on to my mom he just looks like wait u were not holding me earlier
