I still can't get DS to nap for more than 20-30 minutes on his own. Maybe once a week he will do a nap for over an hour and I think we've hit a breakthrough. But then his next nap he wakes up and is back in my arms for the next hour. I know he's still tired because he falls asleep instantly in my arms and will stay asleep for another hour or so. I want him to practice sleeping on his own but don't want to sacrifice him having a good rest either.
Feeling very disheartened as so many people on here are able to get their baby sleeping on their own and for a fairly long time and my daughter will only sleep on her own in her auto swing which she is starting to get too big for and is getting too uncomfortable slowly sleeping in it less and less... Longest she sleeps is 6 hours (or was) I'm at a point where I can't find any way for her to comfortably sleep.
Tonight little man woke up at midnight to eat which he hasn't done in a month (normally 2am). Then up 4am to eat again. Now its 5am and he's awake. Wide awake. No matter what I do its 2am 4am up at 5am.
I have no idea what is goin on with LO. I think he just had a growth spurt and he is also teething.. His disposition during the day is back to normal, happy and smiley, but nighttime is a disaster. He was sleeping 8-10 hours, and now every night just keeps getting worse. Last night he barely slept, but I don't think he's in pain from teething..when I pick him up he sleeps in my arms no problem, but once I put him down he's crying. I have never had so little sleep in his whole life and I'm just so exhausted and frustrated.
I can't transition our little guy out of the RnP. Every time I try he only sleeps for 2-4 hours and then it's so difficult to get him back to sleep. Since we're both working, this is making for very unpleasant nights. I either give up and cosleep (which I'm really trying not to do) or he ends up back in the rock n play where he falls back to sleep quickly. I really don't want to put anything in the crib with him for comfort since I won't be in eyesight of him to be reassured that he's fine. Also when hes in the RnP he sleeps longer stretches and its easier to soothe him back to sleep without picking him up or nursing him. I wish I never got that darn RnP sometimes!

This is exactly my issue but in a swing that she is getting too big for and I need her out of it now

Transitioning from a swing must be so tough! I can't imagine all the batteries you must go through! Have you talked to her ped about it? Maybe you might just need to go through one really long week of crappy sleeping to get her used to something else? If you stop the swing after she falls asleep, does she stay asleep?

I have a midwife that visits regularly but her advice is always the same generic stuff that just doesn't work for her so I'm going to a paediatrician next week to ask. I have started to attempt naps laying in our bed which kind of works but most of the time I have to keep giving her the dummy. When I tried her crib it was a big no no. I might try the week of crappy sleep and see how I go but I'm scared haha
Oh and yes I go through MANY batteries siiiiiiiiigh
