Infertility

First round of IVF-Anyone started IVF this month?

Hey everyone.
My IUI was unsuccessful this month and after a lot of conversation my husband and I have decided to go with a round of IVF. After leaving the doctor's office I was a little overwhelmed with it all. I guess it will be like the IUI and it will all be a learning curve. The doc did say I responded well last month to the IUI and she decided to stick with the Bravelle. I will be doing Bravelle and Menopur. We decided to go with frozen over fresh and when the doctor asked if we wanted to do testing on the embryo's before the transfer I was surprised. I didn't even realize that was something that they could do. It's also pretty expensive. So, today I did the Beta and I start the injections on Friday. I was so bummed because the doctor told me that there was a study of women my age who have an AMH of 5.0 and up and the IVF would have been $3500.00 total! Unfortunately my AMH was 4.9! My luck! Oh well... It is what it is..... We have no coverage for treatment at all so my fingers are crossed!  Good luck to everyone that is trying this month. :)

  • Hi there,

Yesterday we rcvd the medications, we should start the injections sometime end of the month.
We have no insurance coverage as well so i took a loan :( to pay for
    Fingers crossed and good luck

  • I am on the 2ww for my second IVF. Retrieval was in August 3 and we did a fresh transfer on August 8 of two fine looking blastocysts. :) it is a learning curve and although I had done it before a coupe years ago I still had to take it one step at a time. Be sure your doc provides very very specific instructions for each day and so you don't have to try to memorize everything. Good luck to you!!!
