Trouble TTC

Introduction (losses mentioned)

Hello everyone,

I have been posting on the miscarriage/pregnancy loss and ttc after loss boards but now that I am venturing into the world of testing for recurrent miscarriages I thought I would say hello and begin participating here as well.

DH and I are coming up on one year ttc. We experienced a missed miscarriage (blighted ovum) in January, a chemical pregnancy in April, and a missed miscarriage (6w1d) in July. I had my follow up for the latest D&C today and my doctor agreed to begin testing to see if we can find a cause for my losses.

DH is a 4th year medical student so
We will be moving away at the end of May in 2016 to start his residency program but we won't find out where we are moving until the middle of March. So I feel a huge pressure to get this testing done while I have good health insurance and a doctor I really love and trust.

I have insurance through my job but DH's is through school so right now we are only testing me. So far we are starting with blood tests to check my ovary reserve, thyroid function, and for a few different clotting and autoimmunity disorders. I also will have a saline infused ultrasound once my cycle starts back. I had the blood drawn today and it is literally all I can think about at work today.

Thanks for reading. I am sorry that any of us need a board like this but I am very thankful it exists.

Re: Introduction (losses mentioned)

  • Welcome! I'm sorry for your losses. I know how devastating it was for me, even only knowing I was pregnant for a month. Hopefully the boards here have been supportive and helpful.

I know how frustrating as well as nerve-wracking the testing process can be, waiting for results and wondering what they'll find. I have access to my lab results online, and I know I check them a few times a day when they said they'd be ready (since they don't call me right away) :p May 2016 is a long ways away, I'm sure they can get you some solid answers before then, and hopefully you'll have good news before the move :D
