Clearblue digital weeks estimator accuracy?

Hello!

I am currently 5w2d, and have been saving a Clearblue Digital weeks estimator test to take. Well, I took it this morning and it said 2-3 weeks :(. I was hoping it would say 3+ weeks. I read 2-3 weeks reads up to 2000miu hcg levels, and 3+ is 2000 and up. Of course now it is worrying me. What do y'all think about these tests as far as accuracy? What are your experiences? Thanks!

Those tests estimate from conception, not LMP. So it is saying you conceived your child 2-3 weeks ago, and generally your due date is determined from about 2 weeks prior to conception (when your cycle started). So the test saying 2-3 weeks is saying you are 4-5 weeks out of 40...sounds about right.

  • Yea I'm aware that it tests from conception, just still felt it should say 3+ since I am 5 weeks 2 days. Although I am sure I am reading too much into it and shouldn't worry so much!

  • Unless you know your exact ovulation date you really can't be sure you are exactly 5 weeks 2 days. And everyone's hCG levels may vary. That's why I won't use one of those tests, too many nerves.

  • I do know exactly when I ovulated due to opk and charting CM, BBT etc, but even then I do agree with you, I could still be a few days off.

My hubby told me not to take it Bc I stress too much...guess I should've listened :).
  • I had the same thing happen to me! I just took a clear blue test and it said 2-3 weeks even though I am 5 weeks 3 days and it should read 3+ weeks. I am trying not to worry too much...but it's difficult. I did read that the test is 50-99% accurate- that's a massive range and doesn't seem very "accurate" at all.
  • Oh really?? Ok, wow, yea that is a huge range. I also just read that HCG levels in urine are normally 1.5 times lower than HCG levels in blood, so that makes me feel a little better at least!
  • I know this thread is a couple weeks old but I just wanted to add a comment for those searching this later like I did. I'm 5w1d today and still got a 2-3 weeks today (also got 2-3 at 4w1d) Fri (2 days ago) my beta was 3450...either the tests aren't accurate or the level it moves up at must be higher than 2000 I would think. I'm going to wait until 6 weeks and test again.

  • There was a recall on the clear blue tests. Something about the weeks not being accurate. I just got a call about the recall last night.
  • I am not a fan of Clearblue to begin with. Last pregnancy I was 10 week pregnant before it would register I was pregnant. FRER detected at 4 weeks.

Omg really?! Wow. Because I almost posted yesterday to talk me off the ledge when it didn't say 3+ yesterday. My HCG on Wednesday was 2014, so should have been 4000 on Friday and 6000 Saturday morning (or let's even say 5000 because time of day). Your urine hcg is lower than your blood because it hasn't reached it yet but by about 1.5, so still should have been above the 2699 threshold. Took t again today and finally got the 3+. That test can suck my ass. FU clear blue weeks! Lol.

  • There was a recall because of the lack of accuracy, but mine seemed to be pretty accurate. It read 2-3 weeks pregnant when I was 4 weeks since the first day of my last period.

  • I took one at 4 weeks 1 day and it said 1-2 weeks. My first appointment is tomorrow. I'll be curious what the Doctor says. I will be 5 weeks 5 days tomorrow according to my LMP.
  • I took one of those and there is a chart conversion on the instructions that was accurate for me.
  • This was accurate for me. For what it's worth.

During my first pregnancy (in May 2015) it would not get past 2-3 weeks on the digital read. For me, this signaled my HCG levels were not progressing so I called my OB for an early u/s at 7w0d. We found an empty gestational sac. I naturally miscarried three days later and was devastated. I was thankful for Clearblue because without it, I would have never gotten to see my little baby.

We got pregnant with our rainbow baby after my next cycle and Clearblue showed 3+ at 5w4d. What a relief for me to make it through that milestone. After the loss, I've been looking to each milestone for comfort and assurance.

We had a healthy u/s yesterday and baby is progressing well.

So for what it's worth, Clearblue Digital worked for me. Although they are expensive and I'm pretty sure I could have paid a car payment in the amount of sticks I've purchased with them.

    Ha!
