39 weeks no contractions ?

i haven't felt any contractions. Any pains . havent lost mucus. No lightening and nothing. At 38 weeks i was dialated at 1cm. Tomorrow i have my appointment and ima find out if i have opened more. But i havent had any signs of labor in anyway. Only when i walk alot i feel lots of pressure and some shockings down ny vagina.why dont i feel contractions? How will i know when im in labor ?

Just because you are 39weeks or 1 cm doesn't mean you will automatically start having contractions. I didn't have contractions until past my EDD by a few days and hours before I gave birth. Contractions was actually my only sign that I was going into labor. Trust me, you will know. You can also lose you mucus plug and still not go into labor until a week or two later. I was also 1cm for 2 weeks before giving birth to my 3 children. Just be patient, baby will come when he/she is ready. - Loading the player...

Everything you're feeling or not feeling, I should say, is normal. I was 4 cm dilated at 39 weeks with both my pregnancies and didn't feel anything other than normal pregnancy discomfort. Everything you're feeling or not feeling, I should say, is normal. I was 4 cm dilated at 39 weeks with both my pregnancies and didn't feel anything other than normal pregnancy discomfort. You'll know when you're actually in labor.

You maybe would have had Braxton Hicks contractions by now but true labor contractions will only start happening when you are in labor. I am fully convinced you feel SOMETHING when you are in labor, one way or another. You'll know. -

OP you are very likely having Braxton Hicks and not even feeling them. A lot of FTMs don't. But feel your belly once in awhile. If it's very hard, you're probably in the middle of a contraction. But as PP have said, you'll know when active labor starts. It may be another few weeks before anything at all happens. -

Lol you don't feel labor coming on weeks and days before.. I didn't feel anything until 39w5d my mucus plug came out with blood, and within 6 hours my water broke, then approx 5-10 mins later my contractions started 2 minutes apart... But that day I didn't think oh hey I'm gonna go in labor tn ! -

I have read what contractions feel like, and what I'm experiencing are 2 very different things. Above my belly button, my belly gets really, really tight. It feels like she's pushing her way out. It lasts for 45 sec- almost 2 minutes. I didn't realize that those are Braxton Hicks contractions. This feeling (according to the nurse) will get more and more intense. I will be very uncomfortable, and unable to carry a conversation during a "true" contraction. She suggested when that feeling stops me in my tracks is when I should start timing them.I kept expecting menstrual cramps, which are (for me) a completely different feeling than what I'm having.I have had a lot of pressure in my groin, but she's been head down for a few weeks so I didn't think much about it. It just feels like I have a big bruise.As far as I know, at 39 weeks and a few days I still have my mucus plug and the nurse stated that I could have it up until I am in true labor. My water may not break, so those "signs" of impending baby aren't a good indicator for every woman. -
I am saying that you may not be feeling the Braxton Hicks contractions. Your pain tolerance may be very high compared to other woman. Discomfort from contractions vary from woman to woman.
