How does anyone really get pregnant anyways?

My ds was not planned. I don't like to call him an accident but a surprise. Obviously I wouldn't change that at all and I love him to pieces.

That said, after reading infertility struggles and optimal days to dtd I often wonder how in the hell did I even get pregnant lol!

I am going to start TTC next month, am I wrong to think it'll be just as easy this time? Blah. This is much more stressful than an unplanned lol.

It makes sense when you think about it. There are potentially 5 fertile days in every woman's cycle. These are also the days that women tend to be more aroused (by design). When people want to have a baby, they try to make sure they have frequent unprotected sex. They will be likely to hit the window, and barring any other issues, their chances are 20% each time. 

The problems arrive when people fail to hit the fertile window or have other underlying issues.
