@dancegurl1118 yay so happy to hear the lecithin is working its magic for u!
Any one have experience with multiple bouts of mastitis? I had it at 2 weeks (extremely fast onset and fever of over 104.3) and now again at 7 weeks. It sucks really bad bec I was thinking the days of breastfeeding hell were behind me as of 5.5 weeks when things turned a corner. This time it's a slower onset and no fever so the Dr prescribed the antibiotics but said I could wait and give it a few days of bed rest to see if I kick it on my own. Anyone have success curing without antibiotics? I'm using Poke Root as prescribed by my LC and it seems to be helping but still have the redness and soreness in the affected area
I feel like I'm going to have to take stool softeners forever. I had a prescription for them for a month after delivery, when they ran out I went a couple days without taking anything and it was awful... gave myself a hemorrhoid or fissure (OBGYN wasn't sure which when she checked at my 6 week appt); such a bummer to have so much pain in that area again after having felt much better for the couple weeks before that. I dread pooping because it's still painful (8.5 weeks postpartum). My dr refilled my stool softener prescription but only about 10 days worth, so I bought some over-the-counter stool softeners and take them twice a day now. I'm afraid to stop after what happened last time and won't be trying again for awhile, not until the area is definitely fully healed.
Also, I think I finally officially stopped bleeding last week. It had been just random spotting weeks 4-7 pp but kept going for so long, I've been wearing panty liners for weeks. But now that I'm not bleeding anymore I'm worried I may have some minor incontinence; sometimes when I change the panty liner it seems like more than just discharge. Ugh.
On the plus side, I think my breasts are 100% healed from the trauma of the first few days (had a crater like crack on my left breast that bled and took for-ev-er to heal... like 4 weeks). And then I was still having pain often after finishing a feeding... my nipples would turn white and I'd have shooting pains. But I just realized I haven't felt that in a few days!

you can get a prescripton for them? do they work better than off the shelf ones? i seriously cant go to the bathroom without extreme fear because im in so much pain. it makes me want to cry but regular stool softeners from walmart arent helping.
@JessHeppell Yes! My dr prescribed Doc-Q-Lace. Honestly, I don't know if there's a noticeable difference between the prescription and OTC ones. For me, they've seemed pretty comparable. The biggest thing I've done that's helped recently, besides taking a stool softener twice a day, is sitting in a hot bath for 15-20 min after every bowel movement (probably would be easier to buy the over the toilet sitz bath, but I just fill the regular bathtub with about 3 inches of water), and I apply witch hazel pads (Tucks) to the area every single time I use the restroom (even just peeing, I still change the witch hazel pad.) Bowel movements are still painful, but those two things have helped tremendously to manage the pain afterwards!
6 weeks PP and my episiotomy has still not healed. Secretly kind of glad bc pelvic rest for another 4 weeks. I couldn't even have my pap today bc it was way too painful. can only imagine how sex will be.
I'm getting blood work done tomorrow to check my hormone levels since I'm 12 weeks pp with no period (and I'm not breastfeeding). I guess my doc will decide if I can go on the pill to kickstart the process based on the results.
Had a follow up ortho appt today to ask why am I still limping, why am I so stiff in the mornings, and when I can start exercising again. She said wait until the end of Sept before starting high-impact exercise, but I can do yoga and basically anything else now. Yay! She gave me a prescription for physical therapy to work on my walking. We're moving out of state this weekend so I'll just take the rx with me and start it once my new insurance kicks in. She thought PT can help normalize my walking and the stiffness should get better as I get used to being more active. Sure hope so...I feel like an old woman in the morning hobbling around with stiff joints. After I warm up a little the stiffness goes away. She said I'm walking with my legs farther apart than usual and that "some of that is learned". Hope I can unlearn it. It will be interesting to see what the physical therapist has me do to correct it.
