Will you circumsize if you have a boy?

Okay for some reason it really bugs me that you abbreviated that.  Why??

Anyway as for the question DH isn't circumcised (He's from Europe and they didn't do it in his country) so if we have a boy he wont be either.

Yes. We did with both our Boys. My DH isn't, but said it's easier if we do... Just for hygienic purpose. So I went with what he said since I'm not an expert

I let my husband decide and since he has a penis. So yes both my boys match my husband we had no complications and my husband was there with the doctor when she performed it. They numbed our sons and gave them sugar water so they didn't really cry.

My brothers weren't and I still remember my mom having to pull back their foreskin for them as they were little so it wouldn't be painful later.

Edit: half of what I wrote didn't show up.

No. Cosmetic surgery is not an acceptable alternative for good hygiene.

@skruhmin He probably isn't circumcised lol. I base this totally on my assumption that he's an Australian wild person. No facts to back this up. It just makes me feel better to assume this lol.

Edit: Now that I examine my feelings more closely, I realize his bathing suit choice makes me assume he's European.

Since DH has the equipment, I am leaving this up to him. Assuming he will say yes to circumcision.

I'm not American (it's not common outside the US) and so I didn't really want to, but let my husband decide.  We circumcised.

We have been battling penile adhesions, where the cut edges keep trying to heal to the glans, ever since.  It's been pretty painful for him.  It's much better now, but not perfect, and it's been about 2 years.  I kinda regret it.

That said, my cousin who live outside the states, didn't circumcise her son, and has been battling with his foreskin being too tight. He also has pain from that.   They are considering circumcision at 4 years old.

It really is a toss up.  Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Really hoping we don't have to make the decision this round.

Yes, our son is circumcised, and any other boys we might have will also be. No complications - we used lots of Vaseline and he did very well and healed quickly.

We did and will again. No issues.

Yes we will be. I worked in a nursing home for a long time and had my fair share of uncircumcised old men with bad penis hygiene. Seeing only one penis with the foreskin crusted down would've been enough for circumcision to win me over... :-S

    Absolutely.

    1.) my husband is
    2.) hygenic reasons
3.) ascetic reasoning; uncircumcized is not common in America, I don't know if it's an elective thing or not since the will be my first child, but think about your son and future women. His manhood confidence is crucial, you won't want your son having any insecturies about his penis because it's different looking.

However; to each their own. Just my opinion.
  • Options
I don't plan on it. It's a cosmetic procedure and I don't want to permanently change my children's bodies except for medical reasons.

I wouldn't pierce a daughter's ears as an infant, either; I look at it like that.

  • Options
we didn't even though my DH was our thought is its his body and if he wants it done when he is older he can choose to have it done and be given anesthetics for it. it breaks my heart just to hear my little man scream at shots I cant imagine having to listen to him while someone cut off his foreskin.... once you cut it off it cant be glued back on... but you can always have it done down the road if it become a hygiene or other issue but this is just my opinion. we did tones of research and talked to all our healthcare providers. and ultimately I left it up to my DH as He has the penis in the family and knows how to care for it...

I didn't circumcise my son and he's had no issues. I personally feel it's unnecessary. But if you do chose to circumcise your son then awesome. I actually made the choice not to circumcise him. My husband isn't as well but he was not around (deployed) and left it up to me. I personally never judged a man depending if he was circumcised or not. I have heard pros and cons on both sides. But it's all up to the parents.

My husband isn't so if we end up having a boy we will not.

absolutely not. our 2yo son is not and any future boys will not be either. it's barbaric if you ask me.

I primarily left it up to DH and we decided to do it for DS one. We haven't had any issues. We will do it again if this one is a boy. Our doctor was great and let us watch. It didn't seem to bother my son at all. It healed very quickly with lots of Vaseline.

Our son is. I left the decision up to my husband because he's the one with the penis. We had no complications. If this is another boy, I would assume that my husband will want to again.
