TTC after 35

Some days are harder than others...

Some days I feel really positive that we will get a chance once again. Other days I feel down and worried that we will lose another baby.

I think I'd feel much better if I could just start a new cycle. It's been 6 weeks since our loss and nothing so far. So I wait...

Right now I'm praying and trying to keep busy at work. I'm trying to hold onto any glimmer of hope I have.

I hope everyone else is feeling fertile and fancy-free. ;-)

Re: Some days are harder than others...

  • Sorry you're having a tough time.

I got a BFN today.  4th cycle since the d&e.  My pregnancy feels so far away at this point.  Like I dreamed it.

RE says the low egg count is likely causing my recurrent pregnancy loss. Less eggs results in more aneuploidy.

  • I'm sorry for your loss and your BFN. :-( I hope your cycle starts soon so you can get going on your BFP.

How long did it take for your cycle to return?
  • I got a light period 5 weeks after the surgery, but I found out I still had hcg well into the second cycle.  So my first AF after the hcg dropped was 9 weeks and 3 days after the surgery.  My bbt chart for the first post-d&e cycle had a relatively normal looking luteal phase.  A little rocky, but it formed the usual arc.  The second post-d&e cycle was completely wonky.  The third and fourth cycles have been normal and returned to my usual cycle lengths.

  • Did your docs tell you that you were more fertile in the 4 months following a mc?  Mine did.  Not that it helped me at the time.  I really didn't have hope at all.  In March of 2011, I had a mmc and d&c 3/4.  My next AF was 4/7 and I got a BFP 5/7.
I guess the positive note I am trying to send is that it can happen.  hugs and prayers for the best!

  • My doctor said "some people say you're more fertile after a miscarriage."  He really wasn't concerned about me, though, because I got pregnant in the second month of trying the first time.  All I know is it's been 4 months since the d&e and nothing so far.

  • I haven't been able to post anything since I posted this discussion. So I'm sorry I couldn't respond. I still cannot post a new discussion, only respond to posts. Im talking to tech support.

Anyway, thank you for your advice. I actually started my period last week (the night of this post). It was such a relief to start. I cannot take my script of Clomid this cycle bc we are going on vacation early next week. This would have been my fertile cycle days and bding the whole time we are sharing a house with family would be awkward. However, if we are on vacation and I notice some fertile CM, I make no promises :-)

I hope that we are the lucky ones whom are more pregnant after loss.
