New to Board - Period Question

Hi All -

I am new to the board. Doctor told us at my 10 week appointment that our baby had stopped developing around 8.5 weeks. Had a D&C on July 8th. This was also my first pregnancy so I am overwhelmed with trying to figure out when I will get my period, if the brown staining I am having is the start of my period or a new issue that I need to speak to my doctor about. I was told I ahd to wait until I had 2 periods before we can try again so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

When I had my first D&C I bled for a few days and then two weeks later had dark brown staining come out of nowhere. My real period came about 3 weeks after that. If you aren't having any pain and it doesn't smell bad it's probably just a little left over blood that's making its way out now. I think most cycles start back up 4-8 weeks after a miscarriage - unfortunately it's a waiting game.

Thanks @ceclarlinetlo. There is no real pain, just a crampy feeling which has come and gone since my D&C. The staining isn't anything in a large amount that would send up the red flag but since I have never been in this situation I figured this was the place to ask for advice.

So sorry for your loss! I also had a little bit of bleeding 2 weeks after my procedure. I was on vacation, and a pantie liner was enough. 3 weeks later I had the real AF.

Just wanted to thank you ladies. I think (fingers crossed) AF is here, 30 days post D&C and exactly on time with my normal cycle! One step closer to TTC again.
