Re: Nervous about inducing

  • Bring something to entertain yourself. Hubby and I spent a lot of time watching Doctor Who on Netflix.

  • Try to relax and go with the flow. Inductions can take a while or go very quickly. As PP suggested bring some things to entertain yourself in case things take a while.
  • Good luck mamma! Remember to also bring snacks because it could ( hopefully not ) turn into a longish time. Like the other lovely mamas said bring entertainment! We didn't and it turned into a long day for us, yet a friend was induced aswell and had her Bub in 2 hours. Always be prepared. Wonderful to know your meeting your little one soon! Excited for you xx
  • Not sure of your plans, but if you get an epi, sleep after you have it. My induction with my first was smooth but I labored for 8 hours, 5.5 of those with an epi. I didn't sleep and wished I had. Pushing takes a lot out of you so any rest you can get before it helps.

  • I was terrified about mine also...the pitocin and contractions I had heard about scared me most. It ended up not being as bad as everyone made it out to be. I just tried to relax, rest and watch tv. It ended up going smoother than my delivery with my first son (which happened on its own). Good luck!
  • Just following up to see how everything went with your induction. Hope everything went well for you. Mine is in 2 hours.
