I thought we could use a specific thread as support to visit in the middle of night feedings... You can explain time, how LO woke up, how well DH is sleeping ... Maybe even some photos of them ? Haha..And maybe some funny gifs to make those hard nights a bit easier.. I know we have other night sucks threads.. Pics of DH asleep and funny gifs might help some new mamas ...if someone could start a funny gif as my knowledge of how to correctly post one has left the building...

It's too dark to get a picture of him, but I really wish I could post a sound clip of him snoring away



He's getting morning duty tomorrow do I can sleep. His snoring woke LO out of a good, hard sleep.

I turn on the lights halfway through my feed to change her diaper and DH doesn't even stir. Must be nice. Tonight's wake up was courtesy of the dog hacking like he was going to puke. LO started minorly stirring and since it had been 7 hours since her last feed, HERE WE ARE!

LO has been cracking off nasty, wet, old man farts rthis entire feeding. DH just woke up and asked if I was feeling ok!?! Im offended! This little guy definitely takes after his father.

New to posting, but lurking for a looking time. Up since 3AM. LO ate and fell back to sleep in about half an hour, but now I'm totally wide awake... Almost time for his next feed *sigh*

I call BS on the men "not hearing" the baby wake up. I am EP now after 2 bouts of clogged ducts and mastitis so not only do I have to wake up, change a diaper, warm a bottle, feed LO, and get him back to sleep BUT then I have to set myself up at the pump after. It would be nice if my "DH" (D standing for something other than dear this morning) would at least feed LO so the whole process didn't take me over an hour! Probably should have put this in the rant thread but too tired.

If we were formula or bottle feeding at night, you better believe DH would be doing at least one feeding.

@Sammy K Seriously. Men may not hear fussing but I bet a crying baby dropped on their chests would wake them up. I'd be like here's your kid, I'll be sleeping on the couch till you're done.

I really think men are just not genetically tuned to hear the baby like we do unless they are light sleepers. My dog could be hacking violently and DH still doesn't hear it. The dog is his responsibility yet I have to wake him up to tell him the dog is crying to eat. I'm a little nervous about working and leaving the baby all night with him..ha!

Ok I just noticed @Ksimos post was exactly this.. But for Thursday? So I guess this is her remake... I just can't wait to get a funny picture of a DH sound asleep .. Too bad we can't load videos of them Snoring.. (My DH is a great help but I have to wake him.. He just doesn't wake up unless I wake him.. But really you can't hear baby ? Hmmm)

I loathe pumping with a fiery burning passion...I start to get excited when late night feedings are done, only to promptly remember that I have to pump...AGAIN...for the umpteenth time today. I am ready to throw in the towel on my breast milk efforts...baby keeps getting blood in stool and my diet keeps getting restrictions to the point where I can basically eat dry twigs and nuts. They say it is temporary, but by the time he will be able to BF again I will be back at work and unable to exclusively BF, meaning that I will still have to juggle with pumping. I feel like I am just pumping toxic sludge to feed my baby poison. This should be the most natural thing in the world and I eat healthy for crying out loud!!! I couldn't get pregnant the traditional way, I couldn't carry the baby full term, and despite my wonderfully abundant supply of milk, my baby can't even eat the stupid stuff...I am so done with this. I feel like I live on this pump and it takes away from my time with my baby, and how well I can care for him when I am tied to it for a total of around 4 hours a day. Show me the formula...

@kezdk Don't stop on a bad day!! I'm right there with you, up pumping. I don't know your whole situation but there's an exclusive pumping group on FB and one called back to breast for those pumping and trying to BF again. Such a huge help compared to regular BFing groups. Tons of moms who have gotten through all those pumps. Tips to make it easier, etc. If you want to stop on a good day, I totally understand. I've thought about it too

@kezdk Cutting out foods is awful! Hang in there momma! No shame at all if you want to switch to formula. Don't resent feeding your baby.... It's so not worth it. I only pump every 6 hours because I refuse to be tied to a pump..... It takes a lot of pressure off. I know some ppls supply would suffer so I can't say it would work for everyone.

I will be talking to his doctor, but have made the decision to stop pumping...I will cut back a pumping every 2 days and perhaps when it becomes fewer I will decide to continue on the lighter load...but since I am just pumping to freeze at the moment, there is no pressure to continue. I have an above the fridge style freezer full of milk...that is all that is in the freezer...just sad mommy milk with a baby drinking formula

I am awake because LO started fussing but went back to sleep, but when I woke up I realized DH isn't in here. He's got bad insomnia on weekends and at least one night can't sleep at all-hes still in his office messing around with no intention of coming to bed BC he's not tired. I feel bad he can't sleep, and he assures me its not depression keeping him up but I still worry.

On a good note, before LO (and for the first few weeks after, until we started formula) he'd be drunk and up this late,making him totally worthless in the morning and most of the day... He's drinking root beer so he can help with night feedings.

This is prolly a DH rant/rave or random but its the middle of the night soooo...I put it here.

Right now it's 4:30am. Everyone in this apartment is asleep except for me. Why?! Right when LO is sleeping well and for long stretches, I'm the one that keeps waking up. Oh hell no.

My kids are alternating waking up - one to nurse and one to puke. And I'm solo a few thousand miles away from home at my mom's house. And my puking 3 year old is sleeping in a room with all his cousins so I'm dealing with them too. Right now just praying there's no puking DURING a nursing session. Got to go, more puke.

^^^ I'm so sorry, this sounds miserable.. Stomach bugs are the worst. We have been battling colds this past week. I am nursing LO after suctioning his nose, and am hearing some sleep whines of our almost 2 yo on the monitor. He has an ear infection and Motrin is wearing off.. Poor kids. But I hear ya on praying that I'll be able to tend to one at a time!

I just gave up and woke up the baby and fed him during a puke lull. Couldn't risk it. At least he gave me big baby grins! My 6 year old nephew just screamed in my face about the puke smell. So wanted to scream along with him. Instead I gently carried him to his mom's bed. She's going to be confused when she wakes up with all her kids piled around her.

Can't sleep. LO amd DH have both been asleep for 3 hours now, but in wide awake. That's what I get for taking a nap. Either chronic tiredness, or not being able to sleep. No middle ground.

@henrytviii that's terrible!

You know your baby feels really bad when he coughs so much from congestion that he spits up a massive amount 3 hours after eating and sleeps through it. Then continues to sleep through being wiped off, picked up for his sheet to be changed, and sleeps for 3 more hours while coughing and gasping. Woke up about 3 for a change and bottle, but I'm terrified to put him back down.

@KarasTwin Baby colds are the worst but I suspect if he's sleeping through it its harder on you than on him. I stay up and hold my babies all night when they are that congested. I can't sleep anyway so might as well embrace it.

Embracing it right now. DS is so sleepy he's not even calling for me anymore. Just dry heaving and puking mucus on the towel I laid on his pillowcase and going back to bed. I am going to be a zombie tomorrow.

It's 4:30 in Ontario CA, we're at my inlaws for the week. LO started wiggling and rooting so I woke up, dad is fast asleep. But I did give him a side kick to prop up some pillows while I held baby so I could burp him afterwards. Now he's back asleep and snoring lol.

So dumb.
I drank way too much yesterday and I'm paying for it......but damn it being outside/in the sun felt so good and I just couldn't stop!

I'm sure I'll be visiting later. LO had his shots today and is only not screaming when he's eating or sleeping. Assuming since he has slept all but 3 hours today he will be up all night.
