baby only wants to feed on one side

So the last few days my 3 week old only wants to feed on the right side. He will fight me and scream if I try and get him to feed on the left. I can initially get him to latch but then he spots it out and starts fussing. I'm getting milk from that side when I pump so I know its not a supply issue. Anyone else have this prob? Any tips would be awesome.

I have that same issue. He only likes to feed from my left, it produces more so perhaps that's why? It might come out easier than my right? I have to put him in an annoying position to get him to feed from my right. So try putting him in any and all positions.

  • Maybe try a "football" hold with him tucked under your arm, so he's laying on his same side while nursing on your left. My left was harder for my LO to latch on, so we used a shield for a while, but doesn't sound like latch is an issue for you. Good luck!
  • Lay down on a bed and lay baby down parallel to you. Lay on your side and feed baby that way. Allows for easy, comfortable Position and the calmer you are the easier it will be. It works like a charm!!!!
  • I'd say just keep trying different positions. Football hold was the only thing that felt comfortable for us but I kept practicing the other holds and now that they feel more comfortable for me, LO will do all the positions. He may have sensed my discomfort and awkwardness!
