Weird Discharge

OKay this may be too much for some but I have to ask. For the last 3 days, I've had a weird discharge. It's been brown/black. I know this is a sign of old blood but what I'm worried about is the fact that its happening off and on for 3 days. Typically its happened mid afternoon. I called doctor on day 2 and they said unless its bright red or cramping, no problem. If it itched or had bad smell could be an infection but I have none of those symptoms. I'm just worried that is occurred 3 days in a row. I have a doctor's appointment on Monday (Saturday now) but I don't know that I can hold out. Is this normal? Can anyone give any advice? I'm really worried.
