SPD

When I was pregnant with my twins, I had awful SPD (symphysis pubic dysfunction) starting around 16 weeks. And progressively got worse as time went on. Naive me thought that I'd have more time this go around because 1baby=less pressure....boy was I wrong! Nearly 13 weeks and it's already starting to creep it's way on in. Somebody sympathize with me! Or give me a cookie ;)

  • I'm sure you already know all this from your last pregnancy, but I would recommend seeing a chiropractor or physical therapist (I'm a PT) to help with your pain. They also have specialized belts that can help stabilize your pelvis. I'd recommend starting to wear one now given your history and how early it is starting this time. You have a lot of pregnancy left to go! Good luck!

  • I'll sympathize. I had it last time around 30+wks, and I've already had a few twinges that are making me wonder think it's coming back much sooner this time.

    I tried a chiropractor last time. Felt better for 12-24hrs before it came right back. It didn't help that I have a very physical job and it would be back as soon as I went to work the next day.
