prenatal screen question

hey guys! So I did the first part to my prenatal screen OB said it was normal however the test for Down syndrome came back 1:70 she said anything over 1:100 is high risk but she wants me to get the second half of my prenatal screen adap. Although she said t was normal she is giving me the feeling that she is concerned. Has anyone else had this happen? Should I be worried?

1:70 is cause for concern. I just had mine done and it came back 1:750. I was told the cutoff was 1:300, not 1:100. These are my state's guidelines as prenatal testing is funded by our state. Don't freak out, but get the second part of the test done and see if that alters your numbers (they combine them for a better risk assessment). If they're still too high, then you have some options. You can choose a diagnostic test (CVS can be done while still in the 1st tri) or wait until the second tri screenings. The diagnostic testing is definitive and will tell you if anything' wrong, but they do carry a slight risk of miscarriage. I suggest speaking with a genetic counselor about your family history and your options.
