How early can a blood test detect pregnancy?

I know that the dr has you come in for a blood test 2 weeks after your IUI (Or I guess IVF, haven't done that)  

I am in my first IUI cycle..I triggered on day 12 and did my IUI on cd 14 (last saturday.)  I was at the doctor's office yesterday for bad back pains and we just wanted to make sure it wasn't a cyst or twisted ovary or anything else ovary related..The dr took blood to run a bunch of tests and said he would do a pregnancy test as well however he did say it was early and would probably be negative no matter what.  It was cd 23 or 9 days post my IUI...It was negative..do you think that I am out this month or do you think there is a chance it could still be too early and I could get my BFP??  

I kind of think i'm out for this month and we will have to move on to something else next month.  I was hopeful that it would work this cycle but I really am thinking it didn't.  

Any thoughts?

I don't think you are out until you get AF! I'd still be hopeful if I were you. We had our IUIs on the same day! Hopefully it works out for both of us!

Good luck to you!!! I haven't fully given up but I don't think I'm gonna be lucky enough to get a BFP my first IUI..This year has not been nice to me

I wouldn't give up hope yet! It is still early honestly. And don't be discouraged if your first one doesn't work. My dr told me most couples it takes 1-3 times. So try to stay positive! Good luck!

I am sorry you have had a tough year. Maybe it's just about to turn around. I know this is hard. I am with @Malbright015 - stay positive!

Thanks ladies..i am trying ...I truly believe I will get pregnant at some point, some how..I had a perfect easy pregnancy 3 years ago, and then got pregnant in january but miscarried so I know I can get pregnant..the question is can I find a good egg left in there. I am only 32 so age is on my side but they say my ovaries are much older than I am and I have few eggs left due to a genetic premutation.

I have never been pregnant and I am 37 on Saturday...one would think that sounds terrible. It does sound terrible when I reread it here. But, I agree with you. I think I will get pregnant at some point. I am sorry to hear about your mc. That is a terrible way to start the year. Prayers for you!
