Okay, I feel silly BUT there was a game at my shower to write a motivational comments on the newborn sized diaper for us to see as we change his diapers! Super cute, BUT permanent markers were used to doodle and write all over a 100 count newborn pack....are these safe to put on my baby?? They have permanent marker ALL over them! I JUST thought about it.
Re: Over protective mom(shower diaper game)
I'd still use them. Permanent markers don't bleed too easily and you're literally changing a newborn's diaper every 2 hours, if that, especially if you're breast feeding so the length of time that one diaper will be on the baby doesn't seem long enough to cause any harm.

Remember - diaper have barriers so pee doesn't get out, so the odds of anything soaking in would be pretty much nil too. don't stress yourself on this.
At our daycare, because moms use one of a few brands, there's duplication and as such they use marker on them to note the kiddo's names and I've never once seen something soak through. I promise ( though... I may be a internet crazy...
)
I'm certain I wouldn't use them but my husband would sneak them on kiddo every chance he got.
