has anybody else experienced anemia during pregnancy? I am 14 1/2 weeks and I've just found out I'm anemic, I have been really struggling with breathing recently ..Has anybody got any advice from experience and what made you feel better?

I have beta thalassemia and anemia. Depending on what your hemoglobin and hematacrit levels are you might want to be monitored by a hematologist. My low levels put me on bed rest with #1 and now #2. If you are out of breath I strongly suggest you call your doctor and tell them!

I've been anemic since before pregnancy, I'm being followed by a hematologist and am on iron 3x/day. Shortness of breath is common in pregnancy and with anemia. I ran a half marathon in May and now I'm winded walking up the steps. Let your doctor know your symptoms and they can determine if they are concerning. As always. If you are concerned about something you are experiencing with pregnancy you should call your doctors office.
