2nd Trimester

Sleep apnea and anxiety

ive been having trouble sleeping I am 22 week pregnant and everytime I'm trying to sleep a few minutes into my sleep and I wake up gasping for air and feeling like I'm going to faint and the room is going 100 miles an hour and I have anxiety and panic attacks does anyone else experience this? Is it caused by pregnancy hormones and what can I go to help it

Re: Sleep apnea and anxiety

  • You should speak with a medical professional about this.  Good luck.

  • If you think you have sleep apnea, you need to see a professional. We can't help you.
  • I call my doctor and try to set an appt but all they say is all I can do is relax and they can't do anything for me
  • Call your doc, and ask them to refer you to a sleep specialist and also let them know about your anxiety.  I've done 2 sleep studies, both while pregnant, and I was diagnosed with mild to severe sleep apnea when I sleep on my back. They also tested me with an oxygen mask, and I'm waiting to see if I will be prescribed one to sleep with so that I can get better rest and not stress about not breathing in my sleep. So I strongly suggest calling your physician and asking for a referral.
