Next cycle cancelled before it starts...has this happened to anyone?

Hi Everyone-
Just a little catch up and follow-up on my story...
My 1st cycle of IVF was cancelled because my body didn't respond to the medicine.  The doctor put me on Provera for 10 days to induce my period so we can start the process all over again.  I got my period the day after I finished Provera and they told me to come into the office for bloodwork and a sonogram on Day 2.  Well, I went on Day 2 and the doctor said that I still had old follicles in my ovaries so we have to skip this month as well and try again for next month.  Has this happened to anyone?  This is is getting so frustrating.  Not to mention that the Lupron I received has a 28 day shelf life and I paid out of pocket... so that's probably going in the garbage.  This turned into more of a vent, but this is making me nuts.  They also want me to start on birth control again and I am convinced that the BC pills are making me overly anxious.  I am starting to feel like this is never going to happen and it is making me sad.  Anyway, that is my update... thanks for listening.

    I am very sorry, my FET was delayed because of a too thin lining, it is so difficult when you have it all planned and set in your head and it does not happen :(

    I am sorry about your cycle! That is frustrating. Our bodies can really screw things up!! What is the plan for next cycle compared to this last one to get you to respond? I know waiting sucks and it makes me anxious too. I have been waiting forever it seems like to get this IVF on the road as well. I had made my appointment last March and started the process in June and won't start stim meds until end of August. I think the BCPs should quiet your ovaries down. Your RE probably wants to make sure you have nothing on in your ovaries before shocking them awake. Hang in there! You hope next cycle brings you better results!!

    I am so sorry!  This hasn't happened to me personally but I know many many women from this board who have been benched for the same reason.  IF is the worst.  Period.  I wasn't benched for this reason but I spent most of last year waiting and waiting and my FET being postponed for the fluid in my ute.  So I know exactly how you are feeling right now.  It is the most frustrating place to be in!!  ((HUGS))

    Thanks for all of your support!  I spoke with the doctor and he said that unfortunately this can be a big waiting game... but I understand they have to stick with the plan to make positive outcomes.  It is so hard when I want to just do it already and I can't even start... I know you all understand.  Good luck to all you ladies--  May all of our patience pay off in the best way possible!

    Sorry you have to wait...glad to hear everyone's responses, I was supposed to have my first cycle this week, but got postponed to next month...it's so frustrating and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to be disappointed with a single month delay. Now I am trying to get them to tell me everything that could possibly delay the next scheduled date so I can mentally be prepared. My acupuncturist warned me today that in this IF business you have to learn to be flexible....my type A, want to be in control and plan everything type nature makes this hard:)  Best of luck and FX for no more delays for all!
