How does WIC work?

is WIC a pain in the butt? I basically just need a little help buying formula. I don't need all the other stuff they give you.

You don't have to, but they give me milk and cereal and fruit. It's helping me eat healthier, which is the point of the program. They can be an excellent resource. You can even apply online in some states. The formula itself is a huge savings and definitely worth a couple trips to the WIC office.

The WIC I go to you have to use all the checks they give you if not they will take them all away. It's worth it though and if you don't want or need anything just give it away.

I appreciate WIC so much. Formula is expensive and my LO uses almost all of her cans for the month. I get 10 per month. At my local WIC if you do not need the other stuff you can let them know and they won't give it to you but it is mostly milk, bread, eggs, juice, peanut butter and cheese. It is not a pain to get though. Just have to apply and be eligible.

It's not a pain, they just give you appointments for wic checks for both you and the baby and you just have to make sure you go. You do however have to qualify for the wic. It's a pain at first when you apply but once you get the first set of checks the rest is easy. You get two proxy's who can also pick up your wic checks and go to your appointments if you can't make it. I have my boyfriend and my mom and that helps a lot since I'm working full time. It's worth it I get 9 cans of formula since she's three months and when she turns four months they give me 10. Helps me save a lot of formula
