Light coloured pram

Hi ladies we've picked a pram! Is getting a light silver/grey colour a bad idea from a practicality perspective? I know all prams will get dirty, and we don't want black but just worried the silver will get filthy very quickly. All parts are removable and washable.

Re: Light coloured pram

  • I found most light colored baby items I can put in the washing machine I have not problem keeping clean, but they can be a PIA to get on and off to wash. Can you try reading some reviews to see if other moms with the same one mention an issue washing it.

  • I love that you call it a pram! Light colored could keep it from getting too hot, but I definitely second what PP said about checking reviews from other moms. You may just have to pay closer attention to what you give your LO when they're using it.
  • I think for a pram a light colour would be fine. They are so small when they are in them they don't get up to much mischief! My son had a pram which was lined with a light silver/white and it was still perfect when he grew out of it. Is it a pram/buggy set? If so the light colour might be more of a challenge for toddlers and I would go with the PPs if reviews and washing instructions.
  • It shouldn't be a problem. The baby isn't going to be walking or moving around in it. You will be carrying him or her so that will help it stay clean. Plus, it would be worse if it was dark because you would be able to see spit up more and even if it was a color you couldn't notice.... it would smell and you would wash it anyway.

  • Hi everyone I'm not worried about it when its a baby but the seat takes us up to toddler stage so that's where I'm concerned! I have seen some very filthy black prams so I guess they'll all get dirty eventually...
  • With kiddo1.0 i had a dark charcoal grey buggy. I love everything about it but the colour because every single thing showed up. This time I'm actively choosing a lighter colour (also brighter, we're torn between lime green and "sunflower") so hopefully both spit up and grubby-toddler-finger-smears will be less immediately obvious.

They do all get dirty eventually, but they wash and tide pens are awesome.  In my area we have massive heat so I've looked into strollers that would be cooler for my little one.  The one I've chosen has mesh panels for airflow throughout.
