What is this dip then rise anyone help first time bbt charting!!

I'm new to this and not sure what to expect while charting, TTC 6 months have blood test to do this new cycle, usually ovulate CD17-18 this time it was late?? Thought I missed period as starting charted mid cycle (silly I know but was wanting to get into good routine for new cycle) took test as I have 32 day cycles and BFN then FF showed ovulation CD26 sooooo anyone know why ovulation would be as late as this? Also why the big dips in my luteal phase? Any advice would be hugely appreciated thank you!!

It really isn't possible to tell you. It could happen for many reasons, and today you have an open circle. Also, don't forget that the length of cycles can change. If you Od when FF says, you're still in the early side of testing. Watch your chart and temp again in a couple of days... Or every day until AF. Up to you.

ETA: Ovulation happens at different CDs for all kinds of reasons.

Also, how do you know when you normally ovulate?

Hi thanks for your reply I tried opks this month before I started charting but never got a strong positive and in the past they been regular cycles of 32-33 days so I guess I assumed I would of ovulated CD 17-20, if my luteal phase is at least 10 days (as MY charting now shows) I would think my past cycles would have at least that too, this cycle must be a late ovulation I did use EPO for the first time this first half of the month maybe that has something to do with it? I shall wait and see what temps do over the next few days, first time doing this but really enjoying having some insight into my cycles, if only that would have been a regular normal one this time!! Haha

I would highly recommend checking some other signs like CM, opks and CP to give you a more complete picture.
I also got a dip during luteal phase last month, it didn't end up meaning anything, I am on to my next Cycle after having my typical L.P.

Cycles change. Dips happen. Temps fluctuate. . The only thing temps show you is a shift = ovulation on the day before the shift. A shift is at least 3 temps higher than the previous six. Have you done the tutorials?

EPO delayed me as well.I stopped taking it 2nd cycle and looks like i'm back to "normal" last month and waiting for this month to see how long cycle is.

Thank you so much everyone for your advice, I will start opks next cycle, hopefully my AF arrives soon so I can get going!
@Crowqueen03 wow interesting that makes me feel a bit better I was diagnosed with PCOS due to no periods when I was 17, but since I had my first child it seemed to disappear and have had very regular periods and even 2 more children since then! I definitely won't be taking EPO again, I was hoping it may have helped shorten cycle a wee bit, I guess I got it wrong back to the drawing board

@krissyticketyboo Yeah not sure why it messed with my cycles either.I read so much good reviews on it so of course tried it but then after i was delayed and skipped my period for a month i looked more into it and read some other people reviews of it happening to them and it was also drying out my CM more than it already was which is why i took it in the first place.So once i stopped taking it my CM went from nothing to at least a lilttle bit there again and period went back to normal.

Hi everyone new to the boards... Don't know ur lingo or abbreviations lol But need some help. My chart is funky... Been doing bbt since last period. It couldn't detect when I ovulated. I got a solid smiley on day 16/17, but no temp spike. On day 22 I had sex and the next day I got a spike and have had 3 spikes in a row. But fertility friend is still saying I ovulated on day 17... 5 days before a temp spike. Is this possible? Did I ovulate? This is so consuming and confusing! Any help is so appreciated! Thank u! Hello and welcome;
First of all, you should post your own thread. You are kind if hijacking and also resurrecting a zombie thread.

Second, you are looking for a temp SHIFT, not a temp spike.

Third, your crosshairs are dotted which means that FF is not sure. Your crosshairs could move after a few more temps.

Fourth, you are missing the first 10 temps and all your temps are open circles. Are you temping at the same time everyday, after 3 hours of sleep without moving?

Fifth, sounds like you might benefit from doing the fertility friend tutorials and play the charting game and read Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. Good luck!

You have a LOT of open circles which means you're not being consistent with something. Be sure you are temping at the same time every day BEFORE you even get up to pee. Consistency is the most important thing to get accurate charts. FF is only guesstimating your O date because your temps are inconclusive.

We all have times where the temp time is different.  However, EVER single circle you have is open.  That implies that are wildly varying times every single day.  FF gives you open circles typically if you aren't temping to the same time every day.  Because you open circles every day, FF is confused.  Lots of ladies set  alarms to wake up at the same time.  Is it possible you are temping around the same time, but not entering the times then?  You may need to change your time on the app.  In other words, if you temp at 4 but don't enter until 8am, FF may be assuming you took the temp at 8 (unless you tell it otherwise).  You may not be able to see a shift easily if the open circles are a constant.

Ok you know enough to know we call this a zombie thread but not enough to know we call this a drive by? Alot of women here have been trying a long time and randomly posting a bfp to a ton of strangers is rude to the women who are struggling and participating daily. If you are truely looking for a community your birth month board is the place to go.
