Re: Am I the only one who hasn't bought a single thing for LO?!?

  • So I'm going to get our crib today and still have next to nothing.. Outfits and blankets and a couple of little animals but that's it... It all fits in a zulily box... This is making me super anxious...

I'm moving at 32 weeks and having a sprinkle or whatever at 35 weeks. I have a small stockpile in the corner of the bedroom right now, but I'll be ordering all the big stuff next weekend after we move. I had everything done for DS1 by 6 months, so this is considerably late for me especially since DS1 was 2 weeks early.

See that would just make my anxiety go through the roof... I'm a big planner and like to have things where they should go in place ASAP.. I think it's more of me wanting to be prepared more then anything..

  • @oorl11052015 I've been controlling the nesting/freaking out urge with small things. Last week I washed all of his NB and 0-3 month clothes, bleached and washed the boppy from DS1 and did some other small things on my to do list. If I'm feeling especially anxious I drag DH to the baby store and walk around for a little while.

That makes me not feel so weird that I've reorganized all my baby stuff like a million times just because I don't want go out and buy a million more things when my shower is a week away.. Don't want to get double or triple of things just because I let my anxiety get the best of me!!
  • Another "moving in the third tri" group here; we close on the house next week but probably won't move till the end of the month/beginning of October, just because we have NOTHING packed right now.  And I'm trying so so hard to hold off on buying anything baby related until after my shower in October.  Much as I want to get a couple clothes I've seen (really just 2: a sleep & play that I want to be her coming home outfit, and a "my first Christmas" set), it sounds like my mother has already purchased enough stuff to clothe newborn triplets!  I keep reminding her that they don't stay little for very long, but she doesn't stop!  I foresee many unworn NB sized clothes filling a box or 2 in my basement.  At least once we have the keys to the house, I can order the nursery furniture and have it shipped there.  Might be sitting in an empty house for a few week, but it'll be there!
  • Everything brought and finished at 30 weeks
  • I'm 28 weeks. All I have is a bassinet and 4 onesies. I was gifted a baby towel and a blanket. And mom made 2 blankets. As far as registry I picked out the stroller, car seat, a breast pump and baby harness...that's all I've got. Works been crazy and not doing more is giving me so much anxiety. I'm trying to get more things together this weekend. I'm just so tired...
  • I wish instead of a "Newborn Needs Chacklist" they had a "What To Buy This Week Of Pregnancy" list. So I wouldn't feel so overwhelmed with what to buy first. This is baby #2 for me but I mainly saved clothes from my first. Not anything else.
  • I didn't have to buy anything, it's supposed to be a girl and DD1 is already 2 so hand me downs it is for the most part.

I would go neutral to play it.safe if you want to start buying things.
  • Lol I was just wondering today when I should buy diapers. I am 31 weeks tomorrow, 3rd baby, and I feel as though we are going to be last minute shopping for this little boy! Have a bassinet and clothes though :)
