i have heard of some DIY tricks for baths while pregnant like adding milk or coconut oil to the water to help with moisturizing and itching but are there others out there? What are they and what is the purpose?
Wrap the oatmeal in cheese cloth...don't just throw it in the tub or you will have a huge mess! Also there is kind of a lot of cleaning the "residue" after anything like that.
I know right?! Like what do you do with the oatmeal afterwards lol. And how much are you supposed to put in? Is it just supposed to be a couple floaters on top of the water or should you be dumping a whole container in? I'm looking into this, i am suddenly curious.
Aveeno makes an oatmeal bath, it is safe for the tub. I use essential oils, mainly lavender, mixed with Epsom salt. I also use grapeseed oil with lavender. If you use coconut oil make sure it is fractionated.
I love the Aveeno oatmeal bath!! They make plain and lavender. My daughter got a horrid rash on the back of her leg once and she looooved the soothing oatmeal!!
I love Epsom salt baths. I've put oil in my bath but you have to SUPER careful getting up, it's very slippery. I usually get the oils and milk bath stuff that's already pre made, it doesn't leave as much residue on the tub. i think the key is making sure the water isn't super hot(pregnant or not) because than will make your skin drier. I love a hot bath but now that I have to take a warm bath, my skin feels better afterward.
