Why does my MIL always seem to ruin my plans, since DD is doing so much better going out. I wanted to surprise my H with going out to get breakfast, grocery store and going to the mall to get him so clothes (we would make quick stops at home for me to pump and DD take a quick rest from car seat) and at the end of the day cook a special dinner since his bday was 2 weeks ago and we spent it at his moms and DH has been working alot and DD had been really fussy so i had been planning the this day since i noticed DD fussines had gone down. But today while we were eating she says she is on her way to come visit us and will be at our place in 15 min. So we had to rush our breakfast and the grocery store shopping(which i couldnt get everything i needed) and the rest of the day ruined.

Oh that's unfortunate I would be annoyed too! Maybe next time say you already have plans, but will phone when you are home so she can come by then when it is more convenient.

@SUNshin322 the first time she showed up all of a sudden while we were asleep and DH told her to call ahead of time she did it the next time but DD had an appointment (1 hour away)and this time she said she was 15 min away which is like 3/4 of the way. She lives an hour away. We also explained to her why she should call ahead of time and i schedule appoinments on DH only day off. One of these days she is gonna show up and we arent gonna be there.

I wouldn't have answered the door. My MIL does this too and I make a point not to answer the door. I tell her constantly that I don't just hang around the house, LO and I are either out, in the backyard enjoying the weather or too busy to host you. She is constantly on her cell 24/7 like a damn teenager, you'd think she'd know how to use it to make plans to visit
