So I'm a first time almost mom here and after hearing horror stories about MCs and three of my close friends having them, I am terrified. Any other ladies feel this way or can give us some happy advice??! xo
I am exactly the same worrying about every twinge and niggle and when I don't have any symptoms worrying even more - I'm pretty sure everyone is the same. Got my first scan in 2 weeks and I'll be around 9 weeks. It feels like the first part really drags and I won't be able to relax until I see the little bean on the screen and know we're both okay and I'm not dreaming
Same here. I grew up seeing my mom struggle with trying to conceive and go through a few miscarriages. My sister just mc'd last fall as well. I worry when I don't feel cramping, I worry when I get a random sharp cramp. Every time I go to the restroom I check for bleeding :-S I think I'll feel a better after my first doctors visit
I feel the same way! I'm terrified of basically everything that has to do with this process lol. I'm 5wk3d, and I don't have my first Dr. appt until 8/11. Not having many crazy symptoms... yet. Which is cool, but freaks me out a bit. Just trying to stay calm and enjoy the ride lol.
Hey ladies! I'm the same way and my hubby is making me be extra careful! I also worry every time I go to the bathroom and make sure that I am feeling some sort of symptom! My first appointment is also on 8/11 and although we're really excited were nervous too! I just wanna get through these first three months! One down two to go! I hope the best for everyone!
I'm so glad you all are feeling the same things!! 6 weeks today and I can't wait to get to the doctor on Aug 5th! We will have to update each other on how our appointments go!!
I'm surprisingly calm. I think about the possibility of an MC often though. I nearly googled the statistic today but made myself not do it. If I know, I'm sure I'll worry. I am adopted, as my parents had fertility issues and so I guess I feel the fact that I got a BFP is a win in and of itself, even though there is no scientific correlation. Haha. Although, as my mom was never pregnant, I feel a bit more in the dark about this stuff than some. Maybe ignorance is bliss. I was shocked that they wait so long before scheduling the first appointment though! And I'm feeling impatient. Haha. 4 weeks 4 days today. Appt isn't until 8/18. Have you guys told anyone yet?

We've told our family and close friends, but have told them to keep it hush hush. Everyone is really excited, most of all my big brother. He's already sending me texts about what he wants to teach the baby and calls himself "Unky Chris". He's a big jock type, but is the biggest marshmallow!
Same here. Second pregnancy for me, but I miscarried the first time at 6 weeks, last March. I'm 36 now, so I have more chances of MC. My EDD is 03/28 and my first appointment with my doc is only 08/24 because I'll be in London for 2 weeks. We will tell only our parents and brothers/sisters, because last time I told some of my friends and had to say a week later that I wasn't pregnant anymore. So this time, we will wait until the 12 weeks mark to spread the news to everybody. I really hope I'll be able to hear the heart on my first appointment with my doc, to bring my stress level down a bit. I wish you all the best!
@ibleedgreen12 The chances of miscarriage are lower than you think. Someone posted the info on a board (I think called "chances of not have a MC). You can search and look it up. Every week that goes by your chances of MC drop. I think at the very earliest (before you even know you're pregnant most likely) the chances are only 33% to MC. My doctor told me this week that once you hear a heartbeat, you are 95% in the clear. That made me feel a lot better.
I'm in the same boat with ya'll! Very first pregnancy (total surprise too) and ever since I found out last week I've been struggling to feel excited because I have a couple good friends who went through a couple miscarriages recently. DH is so excited and is having a really hard time holding in the news, but I'm a little nervous about telling anyone and then losing it. I guess part of me is also in shock and really not believing I'm actually pregnant :P even though I've been SOOO exhausted and nauseated, and thrown up twice in the last week (after having gone a couple years without having so much as the stomach virus.) Also trying to get to get health insurance sorted before making my first appointment... gaaahhh so many stresses in my life right now, this isn't helping :P
(Little note: I said I'm having trouble feeling excited, but I really really am excited, just SUPER cautious I think.)
Totally in this boat! It took us over two years to conceive and got pregnant our last round of clomid by IUI. I'm driving my dh by freaking out about everything but I'm so glad to see that's the norm! Also very happy to read the above stated statistics. Just praying that my little blob continues to grow and become stronger(:
Married February 2012
TTC 2 years 4 months
Diagnosis: PCOS and dh low morphology
1 MC at 9 weeks
I'm the same - everyone close to me had miscarriages and I think about it a lot. However they also each went on to have healthy pregnancies. I'm 7 weeks now and my first prenatal visit is on Tuesday. Finally!
This is my first pregnancy as well and it feels all so unreal. I'm so excited but do worry here and there. We've told close family but want to wait until we see our little bean before telling the whole world. It's definitely an exciting thing. My first appt is 8/31 and I will be 10wks by then. I hope it goes by quickly!
