Re: Flame Free Friday Confession

  • I'm canceling a quick trip to visit my sister and best friend this weekend, at the last minute, because two super expensive repairs (car and home) came up out of nowhere this morning. And it's selfish but I'd rather sit at home and sulk than travel 10 hours and try to be social.

  • This week has been crazy at work and problems keep coming up so I would like to focus on my usual shift and responsibilities instead of people dumping on me and asking me to work shifts I dont normally do.
I also finally got my insulin pump and have to have another appointment with my Endo's diabetes educator just for that. Super exhausted and still nauseated! I want to sleep in one of these mornings!

  • I'm so ready to stick my MIL in assisted living and only deal with her when I feel like it. Pretty sure my husband feels the same.

  • We invited my in-laws to our annual week long beach vacation as we have been doing every year. I hope every year that they would decline, but they show up every year. With me being pregnant and having less patience to deal with my fil's nonsense, I really hope they don't show this year. But they prob will.

  • I work in a more upper-class part of town where the average house is well over half a million. While doing a bank run for work I saw all these SAHMs leaving a barre class with their kiddos. Today I want to quit my job and be one of them. When in reality if I quit my job to be a SAHM there would be no money for any kind of classes or fun, or even on most days food.

  • All I want this morning (and I even had dreams about it) are pop tarts and donuts. So you know, basically just health food for me/baby...
...and I'm seriously contimplating running to the store and grabbing one or both.

Please do it and eat for me! Get both! Let me live vicariously through you and your working pancreas! (I'm diabetic)

I totally feel you. I live in a subdivision where most ladies are stay at home moms or part time. When I see all these fit moms going for a run with their double strollers ( or sometimes no strollers as they still put their kids in daycare) or hear about their fun get together at the pool during the day while kids play, and I'm going to work or coming home from a long day, I want to quit and join them. But then if I did, I couldn't afford to live here!

  • @BlySoto YES!!! Omg! Best article ever!!!
  • My FFFC: I don't really care much about the pregnancy food "rules" this time around. I was a lot more cautious the first time around, but not this time. Sushi? Great. High quality deli meat? Bring it on. Raw egg yolks (eggs over easy)? Yum.

I'm relatively strict about other stuff in my diet though, both pre pregnancy and now. No fast food, no food coloring, no MSG, no HFCS, etc.

  • @VitaLuna, me too! I've been having cold lunch meat from reputable places and cooked sushi (I wouldn't have cooked sushi with my first because I was scared of cross contamination). I also had blue cheese today.

It has been an exhausting week with my 3 year old. Like a non-stop rollercoaster ride that I want off of! I took him to the library and it was hell going to and from there. Just constant screaming, crying, and whining in the backseat. At least he did well and had fun at the library.

My confession is that I got him Burger King instead of a healthy lunch because going through the drive thru sounded way better than dragging his crabby buns inside somewhere.

My husband gave me a "look" when we got home and he saw the happy meal (we don't usually eat fast food and when we do it's at a local place). Screw him! He hasn't had to deal with him as much as me all week LOL! And he's not in the first trimester of pregnancy which makes everything even harder!

  • I think names like Riley and Bailey sound like you're naming a Yorkie or other small dog. They're the modern equivalent of Fluffy and Fido in my book.

  • I got mad at my husband for waking me up TWICE during my nap today. WTH, man?! You knew how tired I was! I definitely plan to give him crap for it later too.

I dream I'm having a boy almost every night I accidentally refer to this baby as he all the time. I don't care what the sex is. I just pray the baby is healthy. It is just weird that my subconscious is all about boy lol.

The office assistant at work has been fighting with her husband all day and is taking it out on everyone else.  It's also super awkward that she just sits at her desk crying and we sit like 10 feet from each other.  She has mascara all over her face but I'm not gonna tell her.

I bought two sandwiches at Panera for dinner. I finally have an appetite and I might still be hungry after one. My husbands going to be like wtf did you spend $20 on at Panera? At least it wasn't bakery items :)
  • @bookqueen that's a very dramatic response. Of course your baby isn't going to be a dog. Her opinion is ignorant. Lots of people are named Riley/Bailey.
  • My hubby sent me home from work(family farm) because everyone started getting a stomach virus and he didn't want me to get sick. I went home and slept for 2.5 hours instead of picking DD up from my MIL. I didn't even feel guilty because I have a UTI and felt like crap anyways

    It was hardly dramatic.

I find it to be a very literal response. She was told the name she chose for her child was equivalent to the dog name Fido and should be for dogs. Ergo, Riley=Dog not baby. See, literal, not dramatic.

Exactly. It was partially literal, and partially sarcastic.

My SIL is due in August with a girl and I haven't offered any of our old clothes for her to use. I'm using this pregnancy as an excuse in case we have another girl!

I don't get it, Riley and Bailey are human names that are used a lot for dogs, but they're nothing like Fluffy or Fido. To me, anyway.

Not that it matters but this seems like more of a UO than a FFFC.

    ---

It was my Friday confession because I feel bad secretly disliking these names when others love or have chosen them. But yes, I see how maybe it would've been better suited to an UO.
