Spotting at 5wks3day ***TMI*** Warning

Lastnight went to the bathroom and when I wiped there was bright red streak. I haven't had any cramping and later before bed there was a light pink when I wiped. This morning first pee had a bright red streak again and is now tapered off. Haven't had sex since Saturday so not that. Had doctor appointment Monday which she got me to for a urine test not blood test. I go in Tuesday for my first prenatal checkup and am going to ask for a bloodtest. My breasts are still really tender today and kind of bloated.

Had my first daughter 10 years ago but it's been so long...what's normal?

Hate to be the Debbie downer but that's not always true. Last pregnancy I had an episode of red blood with no cramps and it stopped very quickly and ended up losing that baby a few weeks later. You just never know. Spotting can be very normal during pregnancy. All you can do it take care of yourself and address any concerns with your doctor.

I spotted with both my miscarriage and with a successful pregnancy.  Everyone's experience and every pregnancy is different. If you're worried, call your OB office.  They will tell you if they want to see you sooner or not.
