Hip bursitis

Any other mom's out there develop hip bursitis after pregnancy? I finally got myself to the doctor for an overall checkup and because my left hip has been killing me ever since childbirth (LO is now 7 mths!) and was diagnosed with bursitis. For right now, I'm doing 800 mg ibuprofen 3x a day for a week to reduce inflammation. And doing some exercises the doc gave me to help strengthen that area again. I have a feeling I'm going to need PT and/or a steroid shot but I'll try the exercises and ibuprofen for now to see if it helps.

I was trying to work out regularly (and just work thru the pain) but now I realize the type of exercise I was doing hasn't and won't help the healing process. If you've dealt with this, what type of exercise (if any) was good to do? Just walking? Or other low impact workouts you could recommend?
