    1. How many weeks postpartum?
    I don't know. 15? 16? 3 months

    2. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your pre-baby weight (most recent child)?
5lbs left to reach pre-baby weight. But I'm a new shape now. My old size is too small, but the next bigger size is still too small in the waist and falls off around the hips and butt

    3. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your ideal weight?
I want to be a size 10. Last time I was a size 10, I was about 40 lbs lighter.

    4. What is your overall plan?
keep increasing exercise and decreasing junk food. Right now, DH and I are eating paleo, but we let ourselves cheat if it's free food. I need to stop that.

    5. How did last week go?
Last week stunk. I finally came to terms with the fact that my work schedule and the lap lane schedule are too unpredictable to be a reliable form of exercise. So I drew up a new plan for this week.

    6. What is your plan for the upcoming week?
Spin bike daily for 30 minutes. Swim if there's time.

QOTW - What is your motivation for losing weight? What keeps you going?

I want to be healthy for my kids, blah blah blah. Let's be honest. I'm going on a cruise in December and want to look good.

  • 1. How many weeks postpartum? 13

    2. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your pre-baby weight (most recent child)? 8 lbs

    3. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your ideal weight? 8 lbs

    4. What is your overall plan?
Same as before - Exercise DVD (Jillian Michaels) and walking DS to school, eating more salads and cutting out dessert/chocolate habit.

    5. How did last week go?
I've been feeling a bit frustrated about how slow the weight is coming off this time, but it's been 4 weeks since I've started really focusing on losing the weight and I'm down about 5 lbs, which I should be happy with.  I stuck to the program all week and on Friday morning I finally hit the 5 lb. milestone and was feeling thrilled.  You'd think that that would keep me going, but I was feeling a bit burnt out and took 3 days off - no exercising, but pretty much stuck to the good(ish) eating.  Anyway...on Monday I started up again and now we're on to the next 5 lbs loss.

    6. What is your plan for the upcoming week?
    Keep on trekking...

QOTW - What is your motivation for losing weight? What keeps you going?
I'm motivated to get back into my old clothes. I probably fit in about 1/2 of them, but I just feel like I look all mushy and some of them are uncomfortable to wear or don't button at the moment.  I know that even when the scale hits the magic number my body will not be the same - the usual...squishy belly, loss of muscle tone, wider hips - so I'm focused on weights and getting some core strength back.  I don't want to be complacent with the extra 10 lbs after this pregnancy because at 40 years old, it just isn't so easy to drop weight, and I don't want my new normal weight to be 10 lbs heavier than it was before.

  • 1. How many weeks postpartum?
    Two weeks, two days

    2. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your pre-baby weight (most recent child)?
    2.5

    3. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your ideal weight?
    27.5
    4. What is your overall plan?
I'm still on limited duty, so just walking nightly and eating more fruits, veggies and protein
    5. How did last week go?
Eh.  Chloe had me up a lot, so I really had very little energy to do much.  And it is getting hot here in AZ so walking has to be done either super early in the morning or late in the evening, and I just didn't have the energy either time of the day.
    6. What is your plan for the upcoming week?
Walking at the park.  Focusing on what I'm eating.  Trying to get more sleep so I have more energy.

QOTW - What is your motivation for losing weight? What keeps you going?  I have a few reasons.  I definitely want to be a good role model for my daughter.  But, yeah, I'm getting married in May and going on a honeymoon cruise in June, so yeah, lol.  Plus, I kinda want to go back to work lighter than I was when I left so people will say "wow, you look great!"  I know it's shallow, but I know leaving Chloe will be hard so I figure compliments might make me smile.

    5. How did last week go?
Down another 2 pounds. :) haven't been this small since 10 weeks pg, so i feel good. Got hit on while walking LO in the park - was creepy and flattering at the same time.
I just had my first trip back to the rock gym-Felt mostly great but also a little discouraging.
    6. What is your plan for the upcoming week?
Keep gradually increasing my strength training and jogging.
Working out makes me hungrier, so I have to make good food choices, not get complacent.

I love outdoor sports, so keeping up my strength and endurance makes my weekend climbing and mt. Bike rides more fun :)

  • 1. How many weeks postpartum?
    6 weeks PP
    2. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your pre-baby weight (most recent child)?
Had my 6 week OB visit on Friday and they weighed me - I've lost 25 of the 35 pounds that I gained during the pregnancy, so that means I have ten more to go to be down to pre-preggo weight.
    3. How many pounds do you want to lose to reach your ideal weight?
Right now, I'm going to focus on the last 10 pregnancy pounds.  Once I get there, I will focus on an additional 10 to get to my ideal weight.
    4. What is your overall plan?
Super-excited that OB cleared me to go back to the gym, unrestricted!  I plan to go 2-3 times a week, and continue to do my daily stroller walks with the little guy.
    5. How did last week go?
Last week was ok.  My parents were in town, so I went out walking with them at numerous malls, which was a nice change of pace from my usual neighborhood walks.  I also went to a yoga class the day after I got clearance from OB, and that felt really good.
    6. What is your plan for the upcoming week?
So far, went to gym once this week and did elliptical and some strength training.  Plan to go at least once more. DH and I have also avoided dessert all week so far (although I did have ice cream on one of my stroller walks...)

QOTW - What is your motivation for losing weight? What keeps you going?
My motivation is to feel like myself again. I struggled a lot with loss of control and body image during my pregnancy, which was really tough, because I have always been very proud of my body in the past. My motivation is to be proud of my body again (and NOT in a "mama tiger earned her stripes" sort of way.  That's just not my personality.)

@ewenner - well said... If I'm honest with myself, that's a big motivator for me too. I'm no competitive athlete or anything, but Ive worked hard to stay in shape, which makes me feel good and has sort of become part of my identity.
