Growth Scans???-How Accurate???

Has anyone else had to have growth scans this pregnancy? I'm 38 weeks 6 days and we had our final in office appointment yesterday as well as a growth scan. Our little one is measuring 41 weeks and 2 days and estimated weight of 8 lbs 3 oz. I'm starting to pack my hospital bag since we're a repeat c-section and we'll be meeting our newest family member Thursday. I just want to make sure I pack her the appropriate size. When I was pregnant with my son 8 years ago they did a growth scan 2 days before I delivered and estimated him at 6 lbs and when he came out he was 8 lbs 7.5 oz I figured technology has come a long way since then and maybe they are more accurate? Any suggestions or experiences???

Unfortunately not much has changed, it's still not very accurate. At 37 weeks, our little one measured 7lbs 4ozs. The US tech said to expect her to gain another pound or so before our induction. However, when she was born at 39 weeks 2 days, she was 7lbs 9ozs.

My doc said the growth scans can be off by one pound plus or minus so I would pack some newborn and 0-3months so you're set either way.

At 38 weeks ours measured 7#2 oz... They estimated she'll be around 8.5#s.. Just had her at 41 weeks and she weighed 7# 2oz lol. My intuition told me that she won't b bigger than 7.5 lbs.. And mama was right!

At 38+3 weeks, he measured just over 9 pounds, head was 14 cm (42nd percentile). I delivered via unplanned c-section at 39+4, and he was 9 pounds 7 ounces and head was 14.5 cm. mine was pretty spot on, but there is a HUGE margin of error for those scans at this stage of the game. I packed two outfits (1 newborn and 1 3 mo) just to be safe.

At 31 weeks he measured 4.3 lbs and at 36 weeks he measured 6.4. He was born 39+4 and was 8.11 lbs. mine was accurate although my doctor didn't try predicting weight at birth, to avoid being wrong I'm sure.

Honestly I'm not too sure...they did a scan on my 40th week and anticipated she would be 8lbs. She came out at 6lbs 10oz...

At 37 weeks our lo was estimated at 7.10 lbs and if full term would be 9 lbs. our son was born at 39.3 weeks and weighed 8 lbs 4 oz. he still fit into nb clothes so I would suggest packing that.
