NEWCOMERS:
To be added to the Weekly Checkin, please answer the following:
1. How long have you been TTC?
2. What is your diagnosis?
3. What is your current treatment plan?Question
of the Week: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Re: TTTC Checkin - 07/20/2015
QOTW: When I was little I always wanted to be a Marine Biologist, until I realized how much science I would have to take, so I scratched that.
Wish everyone good luck this week with any doctors appointments, tests or if you have nothing going on a good week for you!!!
Lots going on here! We got our IUI protocol (overlap of Femara and Puregon) on Friday. Sent a bunch of questions to the nurse yesterday and waiting for her answers now. My main concern is that I responded well to Femara only (2 or 3 good follies each time), and so now I'm afraid that adding 75IU of Puregon for 5-7 days will lead to too many follies and they'll cancel the cycle on us. After all, I have a newly renovated system I've been recuperating from surgery pretty well, so now we're just waiting for AF to start to get this going. I'm in the 'excited for AF to come' boat
We had a wedding on my husband's side of the family this weekend. It was a little bitter sweet as one of his cousins who started TTC at the same time as us was holding her brand new baby. However, the family was super supportive, which was nice. The one glitch was my over enthusiastic FIL who sent to my husband a picture of yet another grandpa shirt he just bought.
QOTW: I wanted to be a cancer researcher. Then I realized I liked people too much and couldn't deal with body parts/ dead animals and whatever else I'd need to dissect. I eventually worked with children who had cancer, but realized that wasn't for me either. Just couldn't deal with how unfair it was to lose two of my little angels.
Just got a response from my nurse regarding our IUI protocol. She replied that we're doing the overlap to increase both the number and the quality of eggs/follies, and that while this is individualized as the cycle progresses, the IUI would be cancelled if I had more than 5 good follies (she said 'considering your age..', I'm 30). Fear of triplets kicking in. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this.
DH and I have been TTC for 9 months.
Dx: unknown
Treatment: testing and possibly clomid
Good luck to you ladies I look forward to getting to know you better through this crazy/stressful time.
QOTW: I wanted to be a nurse until I learned I couldn't look at needles.
Treatment: clomid.
Treatment: clomid.
Officially diagnosed with unexplained infertility after 4 years of TTC
IUI#2 gave us DS#1 who became an angel a few minutes after birth from Noonan syndrome
IUI#4 gave us DS#2 - going strong as a toddler!
TTC again... Found a clinical trial for unexplained infertility and finished 16 weeks of "lifestyle intervention"
Cycle #1 - cancelled for ovarian cyst x3...
Treatment: clomid.
Treatment plan: currently in TWW on last round of Clomid. The next step would be injectables but hoping this month is THE month!
QOTW: I wanted to be a teacher when I was a kid.
Nothing happening this week, started clomid round three a few days ago, hope third time's the charm!
QOTW: I changed my mind a lot - race car driver, doctor, actress, lawyer, poet - I wanted to do it all!
1. How long have you been TTC? 5 years. I was on the board in TTTC board in 2013/2014, but it getting to be emotionally too much. Plus I had to fire my RE, and we went the weirdo more "natural route".
2. What is your diagnosis? Unexplained fertility. Low estrogen + progesterone after ovulation.
3. What is your current treatment plan? Menopur + HCG shots on day 3, 5, 7 & 9 dpo + progesterone supplement + tons of other vitamins.
QOTW: President of the United States, ROFL.
I don't remember what I wanted to be. I liked building things so maybe a architect. Seems like so many many years ago.
1. How long have you been TTC? 13 months
2. What is your diagnosis? Low follicle count
3. What is your current treatment plan? On the third round of 100mg/clomid + 10,000 units/novarel. Discussions to add IUI, potentially move onto IVF.
QOTW: An artist living on a farm with tons of animals.
I'll get the acronyms down after a while. probably easier when not on the app.
