Re: TTTC Checkin - 07/20/2015

  • Hello everyone and happy Monday! Well this is a big week for my DH and me. This Friday we have our test to see if our hopes and dreams come true with a BFP. Our test is on Friday, so I'm sure you can all agree that I am hoping this week goes fast. I am definitely keeping myself busy all week with fun activities with friends, my sister and nephew. This morning I woke up with terrible cramps such as a day two for my with AF. I did what anyone would do and looked it up on the Internet. I am hopeful that these cramps are caused By our miracle embryo implanting itself. FX!!!

QOTW: When I was little I always wanted to be a Marine Biologist, until I realized how much science I would have to take, so I scratched that. :)

Wish everyone good luck this week with any doctors appointments, tests or if you have nothing going on a good week for you!!!
    Kristy
  • Good luck @kristylang ! Will have my fingers crossed for you!

Lots going on here! We got our IUI protocol (overlap of Femara and Puregon) on Friday. Sent a bunch of questions to the nurse yesterday and waiting for her answers now. My main concern is that I responded well to Femara only (2 or 3 good follies each time), and so now I'm afraid that adding 75IU of Puregon for 5-7 days will lead to too many follies and they'll cancel the cycle on us. After all, I have a newly renovated system ;) I've been recuperating from surgery pretty well, so now we're just waiting for AF to start to get this going. I'm in the 'excited for AF to come' boat ;)

We had a wedding on my husband's side of the family this weekend. It was a little bitter sweet as one of his cousins who started TTC at the same time as us was holding her brand new baby. However, the family was super supportive, which was nice. The one glitch was my over enthusiastic FIL who sent to my husband a picture of yet another grandpa shirt he just bought.

QOTW: I wanted to be a cancer researcher. Then I realized I liked people too much and couldn't deal with body parts/ dead animals and whatever else I'd need to dissect. I eventually worked with children who had cancer, but realized that wasn't for me either. Just couldn't deal with how unfair it was to lose two of my little angels.

  • Hi All -

@kristylang fingers, toes and everything else crossed for a BFP for you this week!

Finished up 7 days of BCP's yesterday, saw my RE today, everything looks quiet in there so I am starting stims on Thursday.. Same protocol as last time since I responded well, if he has to change mid cycle he will.  Everything looked great, I'm down 8lbs from my last cycle so he was happy with that.

This past weekend I had family in from out of town, it was nice to see everyone since I only get to see them once a year.

    Wishing everyone a great week!

QOTW - when I was a child all I ever wanted to be was a Veterinarian.  I loved animals and still do but when I found out how much schooling and science was involved, I decided it wasn't for me!

@kristylang - everything is crossed for you! hoping, hoping and willing you to a bfp!

@kidshrink  - see my update below. I feel you!

@Cupcakegal930  - good luck with your cycle!

You guys, my period is never coming and we are never starting this cycle :( I am normally regular like clockwork but the estrogen priming threw me so far off that I honestly am starting to think I may just skip this month. If no AF by Wednesday, I'll call to check in myself. I'm not super pumped for end results either way, but I HATE sitting still. I just want to get this show on the road. ARGH SO FRUSTRATING.

I wanted to be a professor growing up since both of my parents were. It didn't take me long to realize I hated academia and everybody in it once I actually got to college :)

  • My nickname in grad school was 'On the Ball'...always early on everything, always doing something. All the waiting has been killing me! I hear you! I'm on CD23 and typically have 26 day cycles (except when on fertility meds, where I get a perfect 28 day cycle. And if I rely on my cravings for anything sweet or greasy, AF is just around the corner! I just wonder how that's going to turn out considering the bleeding from the surgery. I'd never wish that upon anyone else but someone who's hoping to start a cycle soon, but I hope AF comes soon for you too! And fingers and everything else crossed that this is the cycle for you!

Just got a response from my nurse regarding our IUI protocol. She replied that we're doing the overlap to increase both the number and the quality of eggs/follies, and that while this is individualized as the cycle progresses, the IUI would be cancelled if I had more than 5 good follies (she said 'considering your age..', I'm 30). Fear of triplets kicking in. Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this.

Hi everyone it's the dreaded TWW for me, praying that my one follie gives me a BFP. I'm scared to start testing, I fear I may not get the result I want.

Hi, I would like to rejoin the check in. DH and I have been trying for a bit over 5 years at this point. Our diagnosis is MFI with teratozoospermia. This will be our third IUI with Clomid and a trigger shot. Started the clomid today on CD 4.

QOTW: When I was a kid I wanted to be everything, a doctor and a ballerina and an astronaut all at the same time.

***ment*** This is our first treatment cycle since we lost DS at 22 weeks. We tried one month on our own and met with a second RE to discuss our options moving forward. We both are ready and want this to happen, but his due date is going to be halfway through out tww and it is just going to make that time even harder. ***end ment***
    ***Siggy Warning Child and Loss***

Officially diagnosed with unexplained infertility after 4 years of TTC
IUI#2 gave us DS#1 who became an angel a few minutes after birth from Noonan syndrome
IUI#4 gave us DS#2 - going strong as a toddler!

TTC again... Found a clinical trial for unexplained infertility and finished 16 weeks of "lifestyle intervention"
Cycle #1 - cancelled for ovarian cyst x3...
  • Hey Everyone,

I am starting another IUI cycle this week. I am sitting here debating on whether I want to try Clomid again or switch to Femara. I responded well to Clomid so part of me thinks if it isn't broke dont fix it but I am not getting pregnant either so maybe the change is what I need. My RE does not have a preference. I guess it depends on what happens in the morning. Good Luck this cycle ladies.
  • @tripplek1988 : FX for you. When do you test? Hope you get your BFP!!!

Hello and GL to all!  Super late in my update, but I've been keeping a rather low profile these days. I'm halfway through the TWW, trying not to go nuts.  For the first time ever, though, I haven't been stressing so much about it.  It wasn't until today (10dpiui) that I started to become antsy and wanting to start my whole "POAS each day until I've got proof one way or the other" deal. :-)

According to RE, I'm supposed to wait until the 29th to test, even though AF would be due two days before..has anyone else been told to do something similar?

QOTW: I wanted to be anything that sounded cool at the time, but I think the one profession that came up earliest and most often was Las Vegas showgirl.
  • wbirdwbird member
@ingemolon ME!!! Literally I'm going through this right now. Instead of the 2ww, I'm  also doing the 17 dpo wait... those extra 3 days are excruciating.

    1.  How long have you been TTC?  5 years. I was on the board in TTTC board in 2013/2014, but it getting to be emotionally too much. Plus I had to fire my RE, and we went the weirdo more "natural route".

    2.  What is your diagnosis? Unexplained fertility. Low estrogen + progesterone after ovulation.

    3.  What is your current treatment plan?
Menopur + HCG shots on day 3, 5, 7 & 9 dpo + progesterone supplement + tons of other vitamins.

QOTW: President of the United States, ROFL.

I'm having trouble posting my full reply so I'll try later when I'm at my computer
  • Just got another bfn last week. Now taking a few months off and planning to investigate DH sperm problems as that seems to be a big problem now.

I don't remember what I wanted to be. I liked building things so maybe a architect. Seems like so many many years ago.
  • New to the boards and love the support I've seen. Good luck to you all this cycle, I pray for BFPs.

    1. How long have you been TTC? 13 months

    2. What is your diagnosis? Low follicle count

    3. What is your current treatment plan? On the third round of 100mg/clomid + 10,000 units/novarel. Discussions to add IUI, potentially move onto IVF.

QOTW: An artist living on a farm with tons of animals.

I'll get the acronyms down after a while. ;) probably easier when not on the app.

    Married 3 years TTC 15+months
    OB dx: Low follicle count
OB treatment: Clomid 100mg + Novarel 10,000 units + IUI

  • @wbird  It is good to know I'm not alone in the 17 day wait!! Totally excruciating. I thought I was doing well making it past the 10th day...I'm at day 13 and I am a little stir crazy. When's your wait done?  Good luck, my fingers are crossed for us!!!
