Distracted Baby

My DD is EBF and just in the last couple days is extremely distracted while nursing. She has started to cry a minute or two into it. The only thing that makes her feel better is taking her off and letting her look around. She did get her 2 month shots 2 days ago. Does that have anything to do with it? I worry she's not eating enough now because she keeps coming off. Any thoughts?

I asked my LC this because mine will also do this especially in the mornings. She said they're at the age where they start being more curious about their environment.she suggested draping a blanket over LO while he feeds but that doesny really work for me. I usually just try again a little later.

I have had to nurse in our rocker only lately because my 7 week old is too distracted by even our bedroom!!! I also think he's getting faster at nursing too.

I'm glad I read this. The last couple of days my DS has come off and on the breast repeatedly. Which I find very frustrating. It makes so much more sense now because he seems to be looking around more while feeding. Which is weird to me because we nurse in the same chair every time. But I guess he's starting to see further so he's noticing more. I will definitely try nursing him with my nursing cover on and see if it helps.

Thanks! I will try a cover as well. I feel so bad when she cries. But when I pick her up and let her look around she's ok. So it makes sense!
